I was building in planet zoo and I got thrown back to the early days in planet coaster. When we want to recolor objects the blue overlay makes it hard to find the right color.
It got fixed in planet coaster so I'm hopeful this will be changed in planet zoo soon. Trying to match colors with each other is pretty hard when you need to deselect the part every time.
