While that's true, "solving" the Human problem is frowned upon more deeply.

In the pursuit of money, we've already produced enough material to terraform the planet unintentionally. While what he's suggesting is dangerous, I'd rather we did it intentionally than blindly. And we are getting so deep into the mess we made that we really have to consider radical solutions.
