Board flipping 'fixed' ?

Not playing beta, but has the activation of 3.0 reduced the number of servers & thus instances for 2.4?

Solo Play, Open Play, and Group Play are all giving exactly the same boards for me atm?

Same server I think; the game mode just decides who you can see (if anyone); as opposed to live which uses different servers (hence why the boards change between Solo and Group/Open).

Right.... but board flipping appears not to be working anymore?
Sorry, misread your post completely. :/

But I'd say no.. for the same reason; different servers. The BETA server has no interaction/connection with live or the live BGS (you don't want BETA players impacting live players). Likely just a coincidence right now.

Board hopping works because you actually switching servers, in case of the beta, there is probably only one or two of them

Not playing beta

Playing 2.4, NOT 3.0 BETA.

Board flipping is NOT WORKING.

The SAME BOARDS are shown in solo, open, and group play modes.

I'm suggesting that 3.0 beta being live is reducing whatever instancing mechanism it was that made board flipping possible.
It really does point towards there ordinarily being only 2 load-balanced servers managing the economy instancing.

Now that one is dedicated to 2.4, and the other 3.0, it's become impossible to switch between servers to spawn new solo instances.

This reduced capacity would also explain why some people are reporting drastically reduced stability.

Must admit, I was wondering about this the other night...

Given that mode-flipping works 'cos it allows the game to change servers, wouldn't it be possible to "fix" it (mostly, at least) by tethering a player to a given server as long as it could provide a suitable connection?

Instead of, presumably, attempting to find "the best" server every time you go to the main-menu, the game would just pick one when you first start the game up and then tether you to it for the entire play-session unless it got too busy or the ping got really bad etc.

Yawn...

What does it matter to you how someone else obtains the missions they want to do?

I need to make a badge for all you Busybodies to put on your ships! It will definitely have the words "Cluelessly Obsessed with Others" as part of the design. ;)

Pick your battles people!

This is what you've wanted, now you've got it.

Next on the list - 1 mission at a time, 1 credit per mission.

Why are people so liberal in expressing their obviously polarized opinions?
The purpose of this thread is to simply affirm that this is behaviour others' are experiencing.

I'm neither for, nor against, such a change; what matters to me is that the resultant game as a whole is fun, and consistent enough to be immersive.

It seems rather myopic & naive to argue one way or another as to the balance of a single component in a vast, interconnected system.

It is one server for beta that's why. Different servers for solo and open in live version.

But it will get fixed sooner or later.

OMFG, that's the 3rd person to not properly read my g posts, even after explicitly re-iterating precisely what I was experiencing. *sigh*

There is no debate here. Board Flipping has ZERO impact on any other player besides the person doing it.

That is a fact, and debating it makes you look incredibly foolish and petty to everyone that knows that truth.

Just tried it.

All 3 modes (Solo, Open, Mobius) give me completely different mission boards. (LHS 1453. Jakes Ring)

This is in normal 2.4, not the beta.

I'll test the Beta for you when I get to my home base in a few minutes.

Board flipping still works properly in 3.0. Just like it does in 2.4.

I was able to confirm that the Pirate Lord Assassination Missions spawned in my home system are still being generated and can be increased in availability by switching from Solo to Open, or Solo to Private Group and back again.

Flipping the boards is working fine here...I can get back to seeing how many data deliveries I can get done in an hour while grinding up empire rank...ah the joys of it
