Bridging the Gap - Overview of Phases

Message me on Xbox if you want a partner doing this. I'm using this time to grind all the guardian blue prints so feel free.

Zoom in to the pic.
They are all lit up/activated
I saw your nice Keelback. The Taipan Aegis F has a Point Defence Turret and has the best shield compared to the other SLFs. Is it possible to kill the sentinels with, and download the obelisk patterns?

I'm hoping that when the paid content eventually arrives, there'll be some way of unlocking those doors and something interesting - maybe even usable, like a Guardian SRV - behind them.
Be careful what you wish for - it would be just like a superintelligent Guardian AI to bait an unsuspecting CMDR with a new shiny only to upload itself to the ship when your SRV goes inside...

And you'll be sat there - thinking I wish we had space legs so I could walk over to that Guardian SRV.... :)

Well, if it's that smart at least it'll be a better pilot than I'm ever likely to be. AI AO for the win!

Greetings Cmdrs

Do we know at which tier of the community goal the tech broker is to be unlocked?

I read speculation somewhere in this thread that it was to occur at tier 1, but I've read nothing to support/confirm that claim.

I note that the rewards for the CG do already state "+ global awards" which suggests the unlock may have already occurred, but I can't recall how this sort of thing worked with past CGs.

Thanks to any Cmrd (or to FD) for assistance in clarifying this.

Tier 1 - one of Will's many posts said so .... I will try and find it .....

Well, Kiatrix said it and Will confirmed here.
Thanks Lightspeed.

With that in mind, what's the benefit of continuing with the CG now that tier 1 has been reached? The cash rewards for the tiers seem very low, especially when you can get 100,000 plus credits for killing bandits who attack a threat 2 convoy USS, which, imho, is a lot more fun than grinding commodities (and the convoy escort helps with those kills so its accessible to combat novices and elite alike).

Nothing. Some people enjoy it, so they will carry on 🤷‍♀️

For science! ;)

This was the most productive cg for me ever. I've slowly been getting the guardian equipment. Getting the nerve up to solo a thargoid
This cg allowed me to finish getting all 3 fighters, 4 of the 6 modules I wanted, and 8 weapon blueprints and all the mats I'll ever need, plus 2 extra blueprints of each type for future development. WHEW.
And got to join the cg for a break.
Keep up the good work FD.

The cash rewards increase with every tier achieved, at tier 8 the lowest payout achieved for 1 item would be 800,000 top 10% will probably be up around 10,000,000 give or take.

I actually discovered a use case for me to use the ferry - I have a Vulture I use for CZs, which has barely enough jump range to high-wake out if things get too hairy, definitely not something I would go 700LY in. I'm going to be on vacation next week, so I flew back to Zende, shipped my Vulture out, and will park it on the megaship while I'm gone. When I get back I'll be able to hop right in on the CZ CG.

As you say aRJay the usual CG multiplier could give 10M credits at tier 8, but achieving tier 8 looks unrealistic this week (even for the most optimistic of us). If FD were to apply higher than usual tier reward multipliers then the CG payout may start looking interesting, but on multiple occasions during this CG I've chosen to do a few consecutive threat level 2 convoy USS missions, where I defended the convoy against Anacondas, and came away with bounty rewards well into the millions of credits. I'm pretty sure most of us could make 10Mil that way well before the CG ends.

Having said that, making credits is not everything. It's still a rewarding CG for those unlocking Guardian tech, and as Cmdr Rudi Raumkraut said, we're doing it for the science. ;)

Agreed. Yesterday I transferred around 100t of commodities with my 16t cargo-racked Asp from the nearest ruin to Prospect. Meanwhile I maxed out my materials inventory (apart from patterns).

I really enjoy this CG. However I did ~15 runs on USS "degraded 0", but the ruins are more fun.

Hey, what about not to flyback? You can ship-transfer your Vulture to the nearby shipyard (to New Growth asteroid base). I transferred my Crusader there, and the cost was only 3,5M and 1,5 hours (ship worths 100M).
