Are you kidding?

Even the CGs are now running outside the actual game? Feels like pretty soon Elite will move to a Galnet and forum only format.

...and such an inconsequential vote too. Which one of several systems that are very close to each other should be the endpoint of a relatively short journey? Who cares? The systems are all within a couple of jumps so pick the one thats going to put the station closest to the main star.

Why guardian space which is relatively close? Why not Colonia?

Hello Commanders,

There's been some great feedback in this thread, and we hear what you're saying about context for the five selectable locations! Keep an eye out for a post from us later today here on the forums, where we'll provide some information about each of the systems, local amenities and more.
Why not release these two posts at the same time? Did you guys not see this coming?

You're really not doing yourselves any favors.

And I think you should have said IIs will start May 6th, because getting our hopes up just for a week long forum poll is another sure way to get a lot of "great feedback" from the community.

Hello Commanders,

Thank you Paige! :)
We shouldn't always have to rant / feedback. Great ideas should come from Frontier too, if not it will create toxic environments and ideas like this one.

Not the best way to start the Interstellar Initiatives in my opinion, mainly because not everyone
  • reads and uses the forums;
  • reads the newsletter (which I've just got);
  • watches the live streams.
It would be much better if the voting took place within the game, in a GalNet article, where we would also get more information on the systems in question. Galaxy map links, additional data about the Guardian sites or even some screenshots would be a big help. We are again forced to use the forums, watch streams and/or use external websites to be able to decide, instead of playing the game itself. And this has been one of the returning gripe of Elite players ever since release. All this activity should take place in-game.

I hope that in the future this will be the case. With that being said I'll evaluate our options here and place my vote, although there doesn't seem to be too much difference between the targets. I'm sure next week's phase will be more involving.

It was the one time the whole community worked together/against each other.
I very much doubt that the "whole community" was involved in an out-of-game organised event with a comparatively short duration.

I expect that Frontier know how many were actually in systems along the route at that time who might have been able to instance with the main protagonist.

Wow - you've done some kinda lame things in the past FD but launching your big new Interstellar Initiatives with this, a forum vote on 5 practically identical sequences of number and letters? What the hell are you guys smoking over there that you thought this was even remotely a good idea or interesting thing to do?

I'm spoiling my balot paper.

We get to start the new cg's in the forums then I assume next week its a trade cg to build the megaship then assume a mining cg to build the outpost finishing with a guradian scavenging CG for "reasons"

I mean.....

AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh fdev

I have no words for poor this is

You know, it will be very, very cool when it turns out that this megaship attacked the targoids and it will not be able to jump anywhere, and players will have to collect resources for its repair :)
only if theres a cunning galnet story about some pilot doing some magic met alloy thing to save the megaship released before it actually happens

Won't be tharg's it will be a rival mega corp that wants to force people to do the jumps manualy and will pay off people to stop the mega ship even being built or leaving system... they allready announced theres a rival faction that might want to bribe commanders to stop the other mega corp..

In October of 3302, the first set of Guardian Ruins was discovered by CMDR XDeath in the Synuefe XR-H D11-102 system, and inspired thousands of Commanders to head out into the black, searching for more information about the ancient alien race.

Three years later, we’ve discovered Guardian Structures and Beacons, we’ve worked alongside the Engineer, Ram Tah, to create weapons and modules, and we’ve even rediscovered the blueprints for ancient Guardian ships and pieced them together with our own ships to once again take them to the skies.

Today, we’re proud to begin the all-new, first ever Interstellar Initiative... Bridging the Gap. We invite you to make your mark on the Elite Dangerous universe and to help shape its future and its story.

What are Interstellar Initiatives?

Interstellar Initiatives are a series of in-game events and narratives that play out over the course of approximately a month. Each one features several phases that will alter as the story progresses and may end with lasting effects on the galaxy!

Zende Partners Announces Transport Service

Zende Partners has revealed plans to establish a ferry service between the core systems and Guardian space.

Freya Taine, the company’s CEO, made this statement:

“In response to increasing demand for Guardian commodities, my company aims to facilitate access to the area once occupied by the Guardians. This will involve the construction of a megaship to transport pilots to and from this comparatively inaccessible region.”

“Five systems have been highlighted as potential destinations, and we’d like to invite the galactic community to decide which of these should serve as the termination point for the megaship. We will then build an outpost in the chosen system, and the megaship will enter service.”

“We hope that this initiative will stimulate new innovations in the field of Guardian-human technology.”

How do you get involved?

Zende Partners have identified five locations in Guardian space where they will not only set up an outpost, but fund the creation of a Megaship ferry that will take Commanders from the system of Zende to a location voted for by the community
  • Candidate System #001 - IC 2391 Sector FL-X b1-7
  • Candidate System #002 - Synuefe IL-N C23-19
  • Candidate System #003 - Synuefe EN-H d11-96
  • Candidate System #004 - Synuefe GT-H b43-1
  • Candidate System #005 - Synuefe PF-E b45-5
It's an ambitious plan. With easier access to Guardian technology, Zende Partners hope to build and develop new technology to benefit the human race... and, perhaps, their economic standings.

To get involved with this first phase of Bridging the Gap, all you need to do is cast your vote above!

You have from now until 6 May 2019 at 11:00 AM (UTC) to vote for your choice of destination. Choose wisely!

Join us aboard the Stargazer!

To assist you in making an informed decision, the flight team of the “Stargazer” will take you on a visit to one of the Guardian Sites and talk about what your options are during the next episode of the livestream series: “Stargazing Tours”. Tune in at 18:00 (UTC) on 2 May on either YouTube, Twitch or Mixer.

Good luck, Commanders.
Is this an out of season april fools joke?
