Broken Orca (yup) assassination mission

So this is just to make players/deve aware: sometimes when you take an assassination mission and track down your target, it's a freaking Orca. Name of the target is correct (in my case John Fox) and the system name is where you are, but upon destroying the Orca no objective gets completed. Exiting into SC and dropping into subsequent signals results in your target showing up again. Right name, right system, wrong ship, no mission completion.

If you see this happen to you, abandon your mission. Trust me, I've tried.

edit: and for those of you thinking "maybe it's just the same name randomly being used on a ship that wasn't meant to be your target," let me explain by what I mean by "I've tried:" I figured that could be the case, so I kept scouting out USSs. The same ship with the same pilot name kept showing up, an elite anaconda never showed.

I've confirmed this as well. After wasting over an hour of my time on this I've been forced to abandon the mission. As stated, target showed in an Orca and did not attack. Killed them several times to make sure and it is not possible to collect the bounty. What a waste of time.

Incidentally, when this happened to me, the "phew, I only just escaped" encounter pointed me to the system I was already in ("I'll not go to X system in a hurry"—"Uhm..."). Was that the case for you guys?

same here!

confirmed Commander, i killed the dude in the Orca three (!) times within a frame of about 20 minutes. mission not completing, nothing to claim... .
