Great racing times

That is some great racing times currently on the board, congrats to the current #1. Would love see to see the video of that one.

Just finished second run in the DBE. Won't reveal the time though, you'll have to wait for a board update.

Placed the video here, it's about 1:34 long ;) (currently still processing)

Ahhh, yes. The Kessel Run.

An auspicious racing event my dear brother. Sign me up. I will now thoroughly laminate my hull so I don't lose too much of my paint job when I awkwardly and haphazardly smash my ship into the landing pads trying to save precious seconds. RACE ON.

CMDR Name: Dash Swiftfast
Forum Name: Huskeonkel
Class you will be running in: Reg. Cobra
Ship Name: The Centennial Parrot

Welcome, brother, to the world of racing. Be swift, be fast, be unbreakable :D

Nice to have you here, CMDR.

Official note:

There seems to have been some timing issues with the previous leader of the Open board. A corrected version is posted below:

CMDR Kliggson is now (unsurprisingly) the leader of the board.
CMDR Macros Black has posted a set of nearly identical times in both the Asp and DBX.
Flash Gordon is hot on the heels of Edelgard von Rhein in his "Zarkov's Rocket".
CMDR Alec turner achieved a respectable time of 1:53:33.

Well done, everyone. Keep up the reckless flying.

CMDR JAK has posted a very respectable time for the Reg. Cobra, setting the bar for everyone else.
I hope to see some more attempts in the future.

Some good times up there at the top of the board. My first regulation Cobra run was aborted due to poor track conditions, ie lag. Maybe tomorrow.

ok just done a run in the Reg cobra class 2:16:22s i thought that was a smokin time till i saw someone has posted 2:02 :(
email sent might have to look at my route and rejiggle it a bit

So I've done two runs now:
First: 66 jumps over ~1700LY in 1h45m37s
Second: 51 jumps over ~1550LY in 1h44m20s

I would have expected more time trimmed off. Anyone have any ideas why not?

As long as you remind Stern in your email that you're entering both with the single run you should be fine.

BTW, I'm busy with some other stuff in game until Wednesday, but should be at Leesti ready to race by the end of the week.

I'll be joining in in the Reg. Cobra race as well, but I've not picked a name for my Cobra yet.

@Stern, are you keeping multiple ship entries on the leaderboard for open-mode now? If so I'll definitely be making separate runs in Asp and Courier. :D

I've just read RadiKyle's post again and he's named his Cobra in honour of Alot's Conda. Nice touch ;)

I'm much happier with tonight's run than yesterday's: 2:02:25.

I'm still confident that someone more skilled (and luckier) than me will crush that by a good 5 minutes. Good luck to whoever you are!

But next up for me is some Reg. Sidey crawling.
I'll note that I was interdicted 4 times with 2 escapes, slammed into the inside wall of a Coriolis station, and got tangled in the plumbing of an outpost. So lots of room for improvement. That's why I'm going to run the Sidey before doing any Open attempts, and work on my landings/takeoffs.

Yes, you can enter as many different ships in open as you like, but when the race finishes I'll remove all but your fastest time.
This is so no single racer can occupy 1st place for all ship types. :)

First of all, welcome to the races, CMDR. :)

The Regulation classes were meant for beginning CMDRs, who would have more to lose than "older", wealthier CMDRs. That's why Solo is the recommended mode for these classes.
If someone for religious or other reasons can't be in Solo mode, then Open is quite acceptable. But if you submitted an intent to race for a Regulation class, your entry only counts in the regulation class.

You could, on the other hand, submit an intent to race in Open Unlimited with a Cobra, but the outfitting is solely up to you. If you choose to outfit it as a Reg, Cobra, then that's your choice. You're still running in Open Unlimited (Solo mode is NOT an option here - Open mode ONLY).

Or just race in several classes (requires separate Intent to Race).

I'm going to put you into Open for the time being. Please let me know if you want to run in Reg. Cobra.

Okay just put in Reg. Cobra then and skip the Open Unlimited. I already submitted the results about half an hour ago.

Thanks :)

You mean someone else has the same ship name?
