Just one more jump to Jabbah. You can make one more jump, can't you? Can't you?

Can't wait to see the time!

I just realized that I may have come across sounding sarcastic; that was not my intent. :( I really am curious to see how well you did.

After playing Elite for a few months without really getting into player community things I just want to thank you guys because this is exactly the kind of emergent stuff which peaks my interest. Unfortunately, after having made my way to Leesti in preparation for making the run this weekend, my RL boss decided to send me into the field for the next three weeks starting tomorrow. So, if I am able to put together a run tonight I will submit formal intent to race, otherwise I will just have to do it for fun after the race period is over. In any case, good luck out there all.

I think I need to optimise the ship and route some more...

Pics being submitted later tonight when I can get the beauty shot.

Welcome aboard :)
This is exactly my sentiment and situation. I love the game and all its about (I was an '84er :p), but struggle with RL commitments to really spend long times in the game. However, the Buckyball races are the main driver in making me find time to get back into cockpit and get into the stars. (And its a good bunch that hang around here ;))

Happy (reckless) racing CMDR....

Apparently my name is Jon Snow. I need to figure out how to not get interdicted. And how to not run into stars. You'd think that I'd already know that one, ehn?

I'll be submitting 1:44:32 in my Hauler, The Mini Enigma, but will be rerunning. Really a shame too, I had some awesome planetary approaches with perfect landings.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank the Hurusalki Jet Netcoms Company for placing their station far enough out to give a guy (or gal) enough time to refresh a drink. And the Peregrina Aristocrats for the necessary time to refresh one's body.

Edit: originally listed time incorrectly as 1:48:31.

Great video! Now that's how to get everything out of your ship. Great racing! :)

Welcome to the Buckyball Racing Club Perseus! :)

I hope that you manage to make a run before you leave, good luck and fly hot CMDR! (But maybe best not to fly as hot as furrycat!)

If you miss this event just take a look at the community events, or on buckyballracing.org.uk to see what we're up to. If you're back in three weeks you'll possibly be right in time for Buckyball Run 9 (assuming the new station is ever built!!!!)

Friday board update:

Today's update sees CMDR Flash Gordon improve his time yet again. Keep at it, CMDR. You're snapping at the heels of CMDR Macros Black.

CMDR JAK flew his Hauler "The Mini Enigma" to a respactable time of 1:44:42.

CMDR Markzx59 found his Cobra Mk III and raced it to almost tie with CMDR <-lightspeed->.

We have three new entries in our staging area. Welcome, CMDRs. We are looking forward to receiving your racing times.

In the Regulation Sidewinder class, CMDR furrycat blasted straight into first place with his new ship, "Fireball XS5", with a stunning time of 2:45:12. Judging by his video evidence, It probably lived up to its name the whole way.

Nothing has happened in the Regulation Cobra class since yesterday. This will hopefully change soon.

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask what regulation sidewinder and regulation cobra were ?

Regulation Sidewinder has to be outfitted like this. Regulation Cobra has to be outfitted like this.

You can change weapons and discovery scanner for alternatives of the same mass, which is good because if I'm going to spend three hours in a Sidewinder with a cheap fuel scoop you better believe I am going to do it with dual frag cannon.

Welcome to the club Cmdr (literally and figuratively). Give or take a week or so I've been playing ED for exactly a year now. At approx. 9hrs a week (RL's a problem for me too but I've solved it by getting up at 5:45am every day to play before work) that means I've put around 500hrs into this dumbass game. I seriously doubt I would have maintained this level of enthusiam had I not a) discovered the bunch of loveable speed freaks known as the Buckyballers and b) discovered the bunch of loveable samaritans known as the Fuel Rats.
