YES I UNDERSTAND THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY SOUND IN SPACE EXCEPT
WHAT IS TOUCHING OR INSIDE YOUR SHIP, BUT HEY ITS A GAME YOU KNOW?
but here is a list of why elite is the best sounding game i've ever played, and I have played a lot of games.
I could've made this neater, but i am lazy.
1. soundtrack (for those who listen to the soundtrack, including capital ship and conflict zone cues)
beautiful choirs, wind sections, and powerful percussion in amazing quality
2. Music cues, when jumping in on shining stars,
dropping out of super cruise on a massive starport,
entering that famous letterbox to reveal the massive internal structures,
or engaging in combat against your most wanted nemesis.
3. surround sound! i understand some people may have bugs with enabling this but it definitely works!
4. Powerful sounding ships and weapons. Roaring thrusters of other ships as well as your own.
Every ship engine sounds unique, and beautiful in their own ways.
The metal flexing/creaking when pushing your ship to the max.
Sound of multi-cannons performing the classic spin-up process,
before unleashing massive projectile rounds in flashes of light.
Sounds of the pure heat and frying power of lasers and amazing energy weapons.
The sound of missiles as they shout and fly toward the enemy.
5. Futuristic sounding ship computer, the finer detail effects.
The twitching, buzzing, and ticking of the augmented super-futuristic flight computer of modern day 3301.
Hear your computer process massive amounts of information as you scan a possible criminal,
or perform a detailed scan on a massive stellar body for the first time.
6. Sounds of the star ports. Hangars open and close while trucks move equipment to their respective locations.
Sounds of the many announcers of different accents warning you of your impending doom if you loiter a landing pad.
Clanging and buzzing of mechanical machines doing their respective jobs.
7 HYPER SPACE. Amazing hyper-space entry sound effects.
Two ways to enter hyper-space and each have their own way of engaging.
Sounds of stars and other stellar bodies passing you at speeds
that are difficult to explain if not educated in the subject.
Dropping out to a super giant star and hearing a musical cue.
8. Galaxy map! Ambiance, ticks, white noise, buzzing,
and selection sounds while browsing the entire milky way.
9. Capital ships! The amazing loud roar of a massive capital ship,
that is entering the area using super large Frame Shift Drives.
The loud buzz of the heavy rail drivers on an Imperial Majestic capital ship.
and so much more that i will probably think of later!
Great game ED I love what you have created and I am even more excited about whats to come!
Can't wait for update 1.1 and 1.2 in Feb/March! See you in the void commanders!
