Buying system data / map view from the galaxy map -- Is this still available or do I have to scan a system or the systems nav beacon for the data?

Stille there, bought a couple today to see if the places have stations or only outposts.

Yep still there, But it has never been available for all systems only some. The farther you move from the center of the civilized bubble the less likely you are to find this data available for sell off the GalMap.

Do you know how far out you have to be before you can not buy the data?

Don't know a specific range but there are systems even inside the bubble you can't just buy data for. Once you move outside the bubble don;t expect to find very many.

I am outside the bubble and I was trying to buy system data back in the bubble, but found that I couldn't.

That was why I was asking.

Data of some systems should be available for systems within 20ly of where you're docked.
