General / Off-Topic Can anyone help me decide?

none of the above

I'm a great fan of samsung but wouldn't buy a galaxy tab as compared to much cheaper tablets they are lacking in features.

I got a 7" sumvision cyclone about 6 months ago that has a micro usb with adapter that you can plug an external hard drive into and a mini hdmi output so you can connect it to a TV and use the tablet as a portable media player.

have a look at this one, you wont be disappointed:

Sumvision Cyclone Voyager Tablet PC

Rockchip Dual Core 3066 1.6GHz
- Quad Core Graphics
- 1GB RAM + 16GB Flash
- 7" Touchscreen
- Wifi + Camera
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Mini Hdmi,
1 Micro usb,
micro sd card port
headphone port

sure it's not got as great a display as the GN7, the SGT or the Ipaid but at £80 you can afford to leave one of these on the bus and still have enough cash left over to replace both the tablet and £20 of accessories without spending as much as you would on a GN7

Can't decide:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7

Google Nexus 7

Or

Apple iPad Mini

What do you say?
:S
I'll share some thoughts.

I could suggest a lot of alternatives but personally from the ones you mention I would go for the Samsung.

I have considered buying a Nexus 7 - I like Google stuff generally, but there is no way I am paying them for not putting an SD card slot in there.
Never bought anything by Apple - Never will. Overpriced and not versatile or maintainable enough.

So, out of the above choices, the Samsung one it is then.

iPad mini - no question!

I'm typing on it now - sometimes without using my hands!

It's beautifully made too.

Microsoft Surface RT! :p

In all seriousness, pay no attention to any of us, just think about what you are hoping to do with a tablet before choosing. They all have different benefits, it all depends on what you intend to use it for ;)

If you add a little more detail about what you want out of a tablet I Amy be able to give you some more serious advice

Nexus 7, they are really good. Or ipad mini.

You want vanilla Android or iOS. Don't go for something with a manufacturers overlay as they take ages to update them. Plus they are not necessarily any better.

I got those for the kids, great little machines, also you can get a leather effect case for them with a physical keyboard, allowing the option of a mini android laptop...

If there moneys available the 10" versions have got some very good specs for £150 ish

I agree with this post. The Samsung is good kit. (as for the comment on Apple - Well Said)

Ipad for its Quality and reliable interface, all the others for there freedom of use and expandable memory. in other words it depends what you want to use it for.

I have a galaxy tab but I think the galaxy note is better.

I am writing this on an ipad.

I have android and apple.

I find android is way more versatile (sd cards, menu button, more options) and cheaper (both in hardware and more free apps). And you just copy stuff onto it without the restrictive itunes route.

I find apple less buggy and I have not had to reinstall the OS. Which is something i have had to do on all my android devices, but it is easy.

So my advice if you are rather non technical or have loads of money go for apple.
If you are technical or want good value and a lot of free stuff and less restrictions go for android.

Out of android I think the galaxy note or galaxy s3 is great. Galaxy tab is good too.

I agree, Apple products and OS do have a quality that has yet to be surpassed, android do have the added value of being more of a versatile OS, though not as slick as apple, you do get more freedom regarding memory and other stuff, if your are technically minded Android, if you want simplicity and reliability then apple.

Personally I wouldn't buy any fruit based product, not that I don't think they perform really well, but I consider them ridiculously over priced and too proprietry.

Nexus 7 or Samsung - the Nexus as it's vanilla Android (as mentioned above), Samsung because they have really upped their game in the tablet and phone market over the last 2 years.

I'm mulling over a Nexus 10 at the moment, have my Kindle for ebooks and prefer larger devices for browsing/games.

Steer well clear of anything Apple related - they are for people who prefer form over function where as us intelligent people know that form should follow function

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is brilliant
