Can anyone help my beluga "explorer" jump range?

I really want to get out into the deep space runs *25k ly approx., figure I can passenger mission and explore at same time and make some awesome credits while exploring etc.. anyways here is my ship.. I have 30 million credits left and my eng was up to I think Rank 4 and still I only get approx. 14-15k LY jump range..

any help at all would be great, I'm not a "fan" of engineers as I don't want to go get all the materials that I have no idea how to go and actually get.. anyways see below and really TY for any help

fyi: fighter hangar was 2 reasons, it seemed cool to try but I also fear to death coming "back" from void and being interdicted and dying..

Well, the link you sent has a lot of e rated modules, switch these to D-rated to save weight (thrusters, life support, power distro, sensors - you can also downsize a lot of these to further save weight)

Biggest killer though is that you are running a 6A frame shift drive. This is pretty underpowered if you want to make long jumps, can you afford a 7A? This is the one thing you *don't* want to down size

YOu are also carrying a fair bit of weight with respect to weapons and utilities (including shield boosters when it doesn't look like you are carrying shields)

As mentioned above you really need to get a 7a frame shift drive fitted, D spec the rest for weight saving and throw some of them cabins away, you're not realistically going to fill all them cabins with passengers it's just dead weight

Get rid of the weapons your not gonna wanna stick around when interdicted and stick some shields on it

Finally A spec power plant a 4a would cover your power needs, (smaller if you got rid of unnecessary parts) A spec has better heat handling while fuel scooping and in the beluga you will need it

You may start with something like that:

You need no weapons on exploration.
You need no Heatsinks
5D fighterbay will do the job
Only one 5D passenger cabin is enough.
Smalles Power Plant the gives the power you need.

After engineering, my Beluga does 38 Ly in a similar build.

o7

EDIT:
OOPS
forgot the shield generator. So no fighter bay because of module limitations:

Thank you ALL, in regards to the 7A, I am in Quince now, how can I find a station list that has the 7A option? I'm not elite in anything yet so I cannot go to that "all" station ...cant wait for that though

The A rated AFMU is better than the B rated, on contrary to popular belief. There is a hidden efficiency value on them, making the real repair output on the A rated higher.
Mining in rings for jumponium is mind melting, since you don't know what materials will pop up in a ring, and the yield is incredibly low. Prepare a few jumps worth of spares ahead of your trip instead.
Also, reduce the tank size to a maximum of 32 tons. I'd personally pick around 24 tons (you can mix sizes by having a 16 ton main tank and an 8 ton extra tank in the internals).

This is what I'd suggest as a build:

Not too shabby for an un-engineered Beluga Explorer.

(Edit: I should maybe clarify I recommend a 7D thruster over a 6D. The range penalty is bearable, the benefit is you get a ship that can actually out-run a Type 9 :D Boost speed is always welcome when flying around on planets. Travelling 40 km's to a distant mountain for the views is more fun with extra speed)

4A Fuel scoop for a 128 Tonnes fuel tank? Gosh that will take you forever
128T down to 64T fuel. No need for this much
6A fuel scoop, thank me later (trust me on this one...)
3 Luxury 4 Business cabins
1 heat sink only
No shields!!
1 SRV
No fighters, not needed for exploration at the moment

24.86LY Laden. Just need to get a good FSD roll and a lightweight life support.

Wait, that limitation is a bug, not a feature? So I can't take shields, fuel scoop and fighters at once?
Gutted...

Edit: Would it be a workaround to fit military-grade hull with reinforcements, and run without shields? Would it cope with planetary landings?

You can land on any planet with an unshielded ship using lightweight hull. I would still use shields if you plan on combining it with passengers.
Exploration passengers gets grumpy when you scrape the hull, they will jettison themselves if you get too much damage, which isn't much.
A 5D shield weights nothing in comparison to the hull of the Beluga, so, there's no reason not to use one.
The limitation of 2 class 6 modules is a deliberate one. I guess it's because the ship has so much windows you can't put the regular stuff in those parts/compartments of the ship.

Thanks for the heads-up, as I was planning to try passenger missions! However, for exploration I want to have fighters for fun and for searching volcanic sites.

I still think it is a shame that you can't have all three modules, at least the fighters could have been remained an option on one of the modules on such a large vessel. One aspect I love on this thing is that docking must be made properly: speed below 100 m/s, careful alignment to the mailslot, watching traffic, adjusting the rotation as I fly out and also it precise alignment when landing.

I have to agree that it would be sensible to allow one of the size 5 reserved slots to be unrestricted so fighter bay, shields or scoop could go there as using a 4A scoop is just a pain.

Wait, so you can circumvent the issue by using a 4 grade scoop? Now in that case I'll rather add a 4-class shield, that will protect against rough landings.

Update: Well, no, 4A has a max mass of 730T, there is no way to improve the optimized mass via engineering.
