Can i get a simple flowchart of the new C&P system from someone?

With 3.0 coming and Steam sales and whatnot, we are going to get the usual influx of new players.

However, i'll admit, i thought i had a handle of the new C&P system, but then started to think how i will explain it to newbies.... and i really don't know how to.

Can one of you kind folks do a simple flowchat that i could share with people to help explain it?

not possible yet, because only half of it was thought through.
currently the way KWS will change is so uncertain, that its impossible to make a flow-chart without it.

It's not just you.

I noticed, in beta, that I got scanned while I was doing something dodgy but fairly innocuous and it resulted in a twenty million credit fine. [where is it]
I can't recall what I was doing at the time but it was something with big earning potential so I just assumed the fine was linked to the potential profit.

I get the feeling that there are going to be a few big shocks, similar to this, awaiting the unwary in 3.0

Sorry Agony,
No can do. I'm just as confused as you (probably more). When they said it was a simulation I didn't think they meant a legal simulation lol.

I am off exploring when 3.0 hits to see the new sights and avoid the inevitable slo-mo car crash that I think the new C&P will end up being. But hey if I'm wrong at least I will come back as exploration elite!

Disregarding locality of bounties,

Not sure it is that complex.

Murder bounty -> 5k if that's NPC (due to change) -> complex formula if it that's player (basic rule - if you have powerful ship and he is not, you pay a lot) -> so if you escape you have to wait for 2 hours before you can pay bounty at IF -> if you get nailed, you wake up ad Detection Center and pay full bounty (not all bounties)

For each murder bounty you get notoriety level. Notoriety ticks out 2 hours each click.

Fine doesn't mark you for kill but it denies you clear access to stations before you can do anything. So whatever your fine is you have to pay it first.

faction bounty/power bounty ties up all stations belonging to entities.

I presume a flowchat could be made with the KWS system having a bit of a question mark around it.

KWS is simpler than before. Scan in system -> will reveal bounties belonging to governing minor faction and power it aligns to. Have potential to reveal other major power bounties if there are any (but collect at your risk).

How is that simpler? Right now, it just reveals all bounties in every jurisdiction.

We don't know all the details yet, but my simplified explanation has been: Committing murder is bad.

lol, no but really: Committing murder in high sec space against obviously smaller/weaker ships will result in max increased punishments--up to and including the new harsh security response from the ATR, as well as stiffer fines the more/worse your transgressions are (scaling down from there as appropriate). Do it consistently enough and you are limited to anarchy stations for station services. Get bounties worth over 2 million credits and then it becomes galaxy-wide. Pay off any and all bounties at IF or switch ships, since the bounties are tied to the ship and not the CMDR now. And no more dealing with pesky bounty timers or dormant bounties.

Skims out a lot of the fine details, but I think it gets the point across (at least until we get the official change log).

In now reveals all bounties which don't have to travel to IF to collect. You can collect them right there, in same system, as they are power related.

there is no "now", since there is a focused feedback topic right about the KWS... just not in the "focused feedback" subforums, for whatever reasons...

That was a bug that made the interstellar factors add your rebuy to the bounty. That has been fixed.

Might be best to await the write-up and fact sheet that will inevitably (should !) accompany the launch of 3.0 .

I think there's a lot that we need to read to understand precisely what we are getting, because it's unlikely most of us (any of us?) experienced it all in its depth in Beta.
