Can we have an option to swap seats in the python?

I was sitting in my Python this morning and cast my eyes over to the additional seat on my right and noticed that it was almost identical to my seat and instrument cluster/holo display and being British I naturally thought that it would be grand if I could sit in that seat and fly the ship from there so FD can we have an option to swap seats in the Python or other ships where the existing assets allow it (cobra maybe).

You know what would be nice for the ships like the Cobra, Adder, Fer-De-Lance? An option to remove the seats and replace with a central mounted station.

Seems pretty reasonable. Although I can't help but think that it might be one of those things which sounds like it should be easy to implement but would actually be a major update.

Incidentally, I've always thought it was neat how Gutamaya ships have the commander seated on the right. It's a nice little detail that contributes to the feeling of the superpowers having different cultures.

Does Zorgon Peterson originate in Imperial space? I'll have to check.

And if I could switch to the correct (Left-hand) side of a clipper/cutter, that too would be excellent.

;)

That would be perfect for me. It just feels wrong, got my license in the UK many years ago, thankfully ever since I've driven abroad on the correct side of the road.

Back in the UK and have no desire to sit on the right. Would fly the Clipper/Cutter much more if they put me on the left, it's not even a difficult task for the devs, perhaps unnecessarily time consuming considering the workload, but not difficult.

Hopefully something that can be added as part of the core feature plans.

I hope they never do this. It's a small part of what makes the Feds and Imps different.

Maybe if the Alliance ever produces a ship they could have the option of whichever side you pilot from. It's exactly the sort of overly politically correct nonsense that defines the Alliance.

I agree, which is why I accept it, just silly ocd on my part. On the the flip side it's just a game, the other seat has a sidestick, design shows these ships can clearly be flown left/right seat like modern dual seat jets. I don't care about the technicality of being in a certain seat to be designated Cmdr. At least let me choose.. I don't think that is an unreasonable request.

Ford manage to build left and right hand drive Fiestas. Vauxhall manage it in a Corsa, Volkswagen manage it in a Polo (but don't tell you how much four star it uses), I could go on and on. I am pretty bloody sure manufacturers who make space ships could put the seat on the frickin' tail fin if demand was high enough.

But to be fair, I had never really noticed! :D
