Cannot connect to server

So, I work away and stay at a remote camp. The remote camp has internet; you can stream Netflixs, YouTube, etc. However, they won't let you connect to any gaming website. So after my days work, I head to my room, which is my spare time. Problem is I have to use a VPN to connect to Elite Dangerous. Every week I return to work, I have some issue connecting to the servers. It lets me get to the page where I can choose to play the training, or the live game and wont progress. I got around this by choosing my network adapter as the vpn option. Now, possibly after the 200mg update, I can't connect again. This is getting old every time I get back to work. What going on with this, I 'm using hotspot sheild vpn btw.

Last night it started working again. Do you seriously think I'm going to email IT and ask them why my VPN won't work to play a computer game? Come on, man.
