Horizons Cannot SRV Refuel from Ship Fuel?

I am confused. Tonight I thought I'd learn how to use the SRV finally. I found a nice out of the way world, decent metal content, and started driving around. Had my first panic with, "Dismiss ship" and watched it fly away with that "I am an idiot" feeling followed by intense depression coupled with bemusement. A little later I notice my SRV has a fuel gauge. "K, sure. I'm at about half. When it starts getting low I'll fly back to the ship and refuel." ...Or not.

Am I just stupid or can the SRV not use the same fuel as my ship?

If I am stupid and the SRV does have a means from for refueling from my ship, where is it?

If I am not wrong... Frontier?
I want you to contemplate something. Go to Alabama...or maybe some rural place in Oklahoma or Texas. Sell a person a car that runs on chicken-'poo' and grass. Highly abundant, right? They'll totally buy it.
Next, go into hiding.
Planck's Law: " A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it. " Secondarily, but paired with this is... "New scientific ideas never spring from a communal body, however organized, but rather from the head of an individually inspired researcher who struggles with his problems in lonely thought and unites all his thought on one single point which is his whole world for the moment."

In Elite Dangerous I'd imagine this kind of engineering would go as follows:
1. Scenario above takes place.
2. Person who ran out of fuel returns to station where SRV was purchased.
3. Upon returning to station an inquiry is made as to who was the engineer of this particular SRV.
4. Some time later the engineer disappears.
5. Some further time later the planet Maji from Mass Effect becomes the center of a sporting event for all of the aggravated rednecks, explorers, and hunting 'exotic' enthusiasts.
6. Everyone returns home except the engineer of the SRV.
7. Planck's Law takes effect: SRVs now have hydrogen fuel cells.

8. If 7 fails repeat 1 through 7
- bring popcorn

P.S.
This is more of a joke post. Just saying... ugh

As it is a joke post, I won't go to much detail, but yes. The ship uses hydrogen fusion and the SRV uses, ummm... is there a chemist, here, who could explain to us how you get pure energy out of a sulfur and phosphorus? :D
SRV should have a milky yellow exhausts, coming out of it.

So serious advice - First thing you do in a new SRV is to go and shoot four rocks. ;)
