Cannot vent raw mats?

I was mining in a Painite double hotspot and got a message that my sulfur storage was full. In the past, I would just jump in and vent maybe 10 of them and continue on, at least that is what I recall. I tried to do that yesterday and there is no way to vent mats.

Has anyone else noticed that? Is it a bug (I tried searching, but could not find anything)? Am I remembering it wrong and maybe we could never vent mats?

Also, you can silence the messages by putting sulfur on the ignore list. In fact, I recommend setting all mats to ignore once that mat is full, to silence the messages and avoid sensor clutter.

Although you need to remember when you’ve used some (engineering, synthesis etc) and need to top up again.

The mats will soft-ignore once full anyway, while mining. Collectors won't go for them, which is the important bit.

If there was a better interface for un-ignoring materials than trying to find somewhere that one might be about so you can find it in your contacts and un-ignoring it, then this would work better.

That is good to know. I set the sulfur to ignore as soon as I saw the message (as there was another fragment floating about). Previously, limpets would stop picking stuff up and just sit there if you were full of a certain type of mat, so another change that I did not realize must have happened if they will now just ignore mats when full. I have not mined the old-fashioned way for quite some time (pre-Beyond) and it is hard to know all of the tweaks.

Ah, did you last play when mats had a “1,000 total” rule? They changed that to a total per-mat. It’s better, albeit even more nonsensical :)

Nah, I have been playing on and off for 3 years and I do remember the 1,000 total rule as that was draconian. What I remember that last time I went actually hardcore, old-fashioned mining with a laser (probably February of last year) was that if you were mining and your raw mats were full of an item like sulfur, your limpets would still pick up the sulfur, but because they could not drop it off, they would just stop working and sit there. As soon as you vented some of the material, they could then drop it off and continue.

Should be something like this:
