Can't connect to adjudication server

The last company I worked for, we noticed that one of the servers in our Reading office kept going offline at a particular time each morning (anyone in IT probably knows where I'm going with this). We found out in the end, that one of the cleaners was vacuuming the Comms room and kept unplugging one of the Fileservers. Needless to say, all unattended cleaners were banned from that point on. That's probably what's happened here.

Lol one of my colleagues was telling me about the exact same story - except I know you're not him. I'm going to ask if he was working in Reading at the time. If he did, this world keeps getting smaller!

I admit though, it's a common occurrence in IT.

FDev, get the cleaners OUT OF THE BUILDING!

Can we please get some sort of official word on this?

Why? You already know what it's going to be:

We know there are issues, we are working on it. Thank you for your patience.

There's only 3 things wrong with that. You knew yesterday there were issues, you had 24 hours to work on it, and I don't have any left.

We dont have IT, its called information systems , or IS, which means the head of IS has an interesting business card.

I used to work in Telecoms Support. We changed it to Voice Systems Support when we were taken under the wing of TI (Technology Infrastructure). Otherwise we'd have been .

And they could sooo easily prevent this by adding a login queue and only allowing a fixed number of players into the game at first and then, when that's stable, allow a few more and a few more. Encounter an issue, fix it, wait for it to become stable, allow a bit more... it's not that it's never done before in other MMO's.

Lol. :) At my office the head of ICT walked out, saying that with the funding he was getting the entire show would collapse in five years.

That was five years ago, and it turned out he was right. [haha]

I've got one for you. My first corporate job was an IT support job. One day one of the stores got a new POS system, and we walked the guy through setting up the server (HPUX workstation) over the phone. Well it wouldn't work. And the old one wouldn't work. Nothing would turn on. Store was down for hours.

So they sent me out there to handle it all. Got there. The guy had plugged everything into the UPS... including the UPS.
