Thanks fa taking the time ta answer esxte.
Been playing for many months now, used to try that 'Double Tap' > net' sets'... long story short.... A few weeks ago, ED winging up was working, now it does'nt 'AGAIN' for my friends and I ( ps I am Hardwired, energy saving ).
Hey ho will just havta play this wonderful game as a single player experience.

Yeah, networking has gotten worse.

I understand your woes; networking is the Fuel Rats only enemy, and we battle it every day :)

Sometimes the answer is just to try again later :(

Hi all..
Hope this may be of help, but in my experience I have found if me and the person wanting to wing can't do so, then we pick another system and station to jump too..

Once the both of you have jumped into the same system from another system and especially if you both drop into the same space station space and then invite it will almost always work.

here i am 4 years later... issue still happening. Friend in Italy i'm in U.S. can't see each other no matter how or where or what we log into. thank you ED for keeping it consistant with stuff that doesn't work and has no plans to work.

Nothing has given any results, the only thing I could find here is that we may not be in the same instance? which I'm guessing was an Open issue, would this affect a private wing?

I've looked on the net, and tried some fixes, but nada. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something or not... I just don't understand XD

This is so true !

Recently I had issues trying to wing with a friend in Germany (I'm in UK), I was having no issues with other UK or IE friends, the work around we used to establish a working wing was for my German friend to tether his XBox to his mobile phone WiFi hotspot, instead of using his normal router. If I remember correctly we played for about an hour and half and it cost him about 200Mb of data transfer. This technique narrowed the source of the problem to his router/ISP.

A subsequent firmware upgrade to the router was required, before it would behave normally again.
