Can't jump out of this system!

I am in the Chimba system and can't escape! Galaxy map won't let me plot a course to anywhere and I can't manually select any destinations outside the system. Did I break something? Did the game break?

Check your FSD jump range against the distance to the closest system. You may need to dump cargo / fuel, downgrade component class or purchase an FSD drive capable of travelling further.

Fuel and hull are at 100%. Ill check and see if my jump range is insufficient. But in galaxy map it doesn't show any of the system connections.

I think Gullen has it - the mass of fuel has reduced your range. You'll need to lose mass by either dumping cargo or fuel.

Did you load up on cargo? Or did you upgrade a component to be heavier?
If that's not it, are you loaded up with fuel (it affects your jump range)

I once got stuck by buying a bigger fuel tank and filling it, instead of
upgrading my FSD. ...

If you're carrying cargo try venting a ton of it.

Have you set a filter on the galaxy map maybe, FSD powered off?

Try selecting via the navigation panel rather than galaxy map.

You could try plotting an econo route and get to a high tech system to upgrade whatever is shortening your jump range.

Have you turned filters on and have none selected? Are there any systems you can select in the systems list in your ship's left hand panel?

Universe is expanding; maybe you stayed in that system long enough for the neighbouring systems get out of your ship's FSD range.

You likely set your jump course BEFORE you picked up cargo or refueled. The Galaxy Map is literal to your ship's current mass. If you take on more weight, your previous course will no longer work, because your ship's mass would have increased.

Simple fix... Go back to the Galaxy Map and RE PLOT your next destination. As long as you are not taking on any additional weight, once you re-plot, your system jumps will be calculated based on your CURRENT weight/Mass.

Always a good idea to WAIT to plot your next destination until you are finished taking on missions etc. from the Bulletin Board or buying commodities.

Thanks a lot everyone. It turns out I had accidentally refit my ship with a terrible FS drive and couldnt jump over 4 light years. I bought a proper drive and am back to cruising through the galaxy.
