Can't move stored modules back to my old ship

I recently bought a new ship which I upgraded however when swapping back to my older ship I can't change any modules now.
I recently moved to a new power to obtain a Tech option which I couldn't get with my older power group.
I'm used to swapping modules as I need them can't access anything or even store modules.
Can anyone explain whats going on?

Normally this is because your ship & module are incompatible - the module can't fit in your ship as it is now. Difficult to tell without more details.

nvm - didn't realise you were talking about Planet Coaster

It would be good to know what the two ships involved actually are, whether they are at the same station or not, and which modules you are trying to swap.

Each module has a size and a class. They may be incompatible with each other.

Hi Guys Merry Christmas I have now a total of 5 ships Diamondback Explorer, Python, Anaconda, Federal Corvette and I recently purchased a Dolphin. I needed a PAX ship I was able to store modules as I fitted the new ship out but when I went back to my main ship the Federal Corvette I can change any modules. I had to change factions because I keep loosing ships when battling the Thargoids and wanted to get the upgraded shields from Aisling Duval. I only have 104 stored items. I have two ships stored at my old faction and 2 stored at my new one while I run around in my usual ship the Federal Corvette. Have no idea why the is happening.

Hi Guys I have 5 ships Diamondback Explorer, Python, Anaconda, Federal Corvette and I recently purchased a Dolphin for PAX runs. I moved to a new faction Aisling Duval in order to get the shield update from them. I had no problem accessing my modules previously 104 but after updating the Dolphin I went back to my usual ship Federal Corvette and it want let me store modules I can't sell modules either. Is this a Bug or is there a fix. I have moved all my modules now to one location but still can access them. I have 2 ships stored in my old faction and two with the new. Very frustrating because I can refit my ship for missions. I'm trying to get upgraded shields for the Thargoid ships.

Can you explain in more detail..."it's not working" is a little generic.

1. When you dock in a station can you click on Outfitting in the stations services? What happens when you do?
2. If 1 works and you end up at the outfitting screen what happens when you click optional components, then select any component and click Transfer options--> Store?
3. Are you sure you're ing at a station with an outfitting service? If you dock on a FC that has no outfitting module then you won't be able to outfit your ship.

tell us the involved modules, maybe with screenshots.

could be:
  • Station your in does not sell that module.
    • you cant "store" a FSD if the stations sells none, bc it would be replaced with a E-Type FSD and thats not possible
    • you cant switch out cargo racks, if you have cargo.
    • the module you want to plug in is not at your station.
but since you got a corvette you should know the basics already...
