Can't play anymore, because "missing file privileges"?

Hey there, I wanted to start PZ, but it told me there was an update today. So I tried updating it, but canceled it as soon as I started it, strangely enough it put Planet Coaster in my queue instead.
I tried scanning the game data for corrupted files, to no success.
Does anyone know how to fix it, or where exactly I can find my saved data? I want to be extra save on that, because yesterday it ignored my progress, and told me that the saved data on mypc was from a day ago (can't be, played 5 minutes before that, just restarted it), and the cloud data was from "unknown", even though I had to merge those files before.

Plus I can't just go "Backup Game Files", because it tells me that would be unavailable until the update has finished. Which is at 666.36 MB of 666.36.

Thank you for any advice on that!
 
Found the save games file, it's here if anyone has any similar problems and wants to reinstall the game, while being extra sure the saved game data won't be deleted and gone forever:

%userprofile%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Zoo

I hope deleting & reinstalling will help, I don't want my franchise or sandbox zoos to be gone. :p
 
I would delete the game in your steamapps folder and then scan for missing files. It should redownload completely without losing your saves.

Good to know, yet I don't trust it too much, because of the issues it had with my saved files I mentioned. :)

If someone has the same problem/concern in the future: Deleting the steamapps folder wasn't successfull, same problem happened. I had to reinstall the game again, but it sucessfully downloaded my cloud files, even though especially these files were giving me a hard time before.
