Can't plot a route?

I have decided that i use "Road to Riches" to plot the route. I wonder how far my Krait Phantom would jump with SRV?
looks like it would take off about 0.2 LY or so for a 2G SRV on a phantom. IF you haven't used them before, check out edsy.org and/or coriolis.io - both of these you can put in your ship outfitting and see how changing loadout affects jump range, speed, shield strength, etc.
 
generally, "all you need" is some wake scanner for wake scanning - you can do that while doing other stuff, or going to a busy station or tourist beacon. than go to high population systems in boom, scan nav beacon, and collect from high grade emission USS to trade in.
leaves you with raw materials ... anylanable with vulcanism and material polonium, map it with asurface scanner, go to the geo sites.
go to material traders to trade in.

but, as you have been to rohini, which is halfway to colonia, i'd say that will take you much longer, than doing the trip without engineering.

as @tetra says, it's the permit blocking you.

It's those raw materials i'm looking for. Others i have covered somewhat. I have been to materials trader 2-3 times just because i have full load of scans.
 
unengineered and stripped down krait phantomm bit more than asp, bit less than a DBE, but much faster fuelscooping.
all of those ships have a class 5 fsd. as jumprange only depends on total mass and fsd (no hidden ship modifier contrary to shields for exampel), the dbe being the lightest and having smaller core modules jumps furthest - but fuelscooping speed make a kraitphantom faster over longer distances.

Are you sure about that Class 5 FSD? I'm at Jameson's and 4A is the best fsd they have. I thought that Founders world had all the good stuff all the time.

yes, very sure. are you sitting in a diamonback explorer, or in a diamondback scout? because the diamondback scout has a class 4.

So thats what the problem was! Now i have a DBX with a jump range of 38.98 ly. Lost a bit range as i decided to have a repair unit and needed A grade reactor. I wonder if i should have an extra fuel tank as that cargo space seem unneccessary?
 
There are Guardian modules available - once you've completed the appropriate missions.
The ones you want are the power unit (better power & less mass), and the fsd assist.
Engineer the sensors and life support (lightweight), and the feed for max range & deep charge.

You're then looking at 70+ ly range.

if you're in a hurry, the AspX, Phantom, Anaconda have faster scooping.
for budget, try a Dolphin - just about impossible to overheat.

No worries about those. I'm just trying to get raw materials and then i begin to experiment with engineering.

no need for that, the DBE does 6+ jumps on a full tank.you want an afmu for neutron boosting, but if you have too much internals, you might consider a research limpet + cargorack to get tissue samplings from xenobiologicals.
or consider a supercruise assist, as this comes with a hyperjump dethrottle (right hand panel) - since i have one, i never bump into stars exploring.

I love my SC assist (and landing assist). And as sutch i have one.

As for those other things: Does that mean Thargoids or just those other "phenomenons"? I don't think i'm going against Thargoids for now.

both - you can use a research limpet to sample thargoid tissues (without fight if you know, what you do), but as well from various molluscs and such (not dangerous in almost all cases).
 
Made it to HIP 36601 by using Road to Riches. I didn't notice any permit locked systems on the way. Only thing i noticed is that the last leg of the journey was a bit odd. Route between Outotz CN-A d14-4 and HIP 36601 is supposed to be 13 jumps according to Road to Riches (or estimate anyway) but in practice i notided on the way that it was still 17 jumps left and i had made 3-5 jumps already. Some of those jumps were realy short (14 ly.) so that might explain it. It might also explain trouble with route finding.

That would be because Road To Riches includes valuable stuff on your route and expects you to stop and scan/map them :)
 
I can only hope that i get mine engineered.
Make Anaconda. With plenty optional tools like wake scanner or xeno scanner it does 73. If to remove all not needed and keep shield it will do some like 78-79. And fully naked is close to 85.
Btw, make guardian fsd booster asap. Free +10.5ly to range.
