Can't use discovery scanner.

Hi.
I am currently in the California nebula gathering exploration data. I have a problem. When i try to use my advanced discovery scanner it doesn't charge.
  • It is assigned to a fire group
  • It is switched on in modules
  • It worked but stopped working after a hyperspace jump
  • I have restarted the game

I'm probably being really stupid but is there an obvious way to fix this?

The only time I've had that happen is after a repair when I've forgotten to turn it back on.. doubt it's a bug as the re-start should've fixed that imo.. sorry, no more ideas :(

Try turning it off then back on in modules.
Also It may be the hard point is not deploying so drop out of super-cruise and manually deploy them and see if that unlocks it.

Don't think re-install will change anything.. when you re-started before did you exit to menu or close completely..? Sometimes exiting game and closing launcher before re-starting helps..

Found out what the problem was:
Have a guess

Primary fire became unassigned
The eternal pain, the eternal pain
