Yes, the title is kinda clickbaity.
We all know the Python is the best ship in the game, but bear with me....
I was pondering what to do with some of my redundant ships and it occurred to me that I might build my Clipper into a combined passenger/cargo money-maker.
I started to pursue this last night but, frankly, it seems like a Python can do anything a Clipper can, but it can also land on a medium pad.
So, back to the drawing board.
My Python is currently set-up as a dedicated cargo ship but I'm not sure that's a good idea.
When you're running cargo missions it's not like you really need to stack them 'cos there's always more available at your destination.
It's also not like it's ever a necessity to deliver the absolute maximum of a commodity to a medium-pad destination. I don't think there are ever medium-pad trade CGs, are there?
Even if there are, I can just bung the extra cargo racks back in especially for it.
So, I figure I can tear out a couple of the cargo racks, replace them with 1st-class passenger compartments and leave the ship with the ability to transport VIPs for ~Cr1m a pop and still retain around 100t of cargo space to take on well-paid cargo missions when they arise.
Anybody see anything wrong with this plan?

I run a 200t capacity cargo python regularly, and have no problems filling it for missions, though I generally just do my own trading with it and make just as much, if not more.
