[CCN] The Christmas Carriers Convoy

That would depend on FD. No news or hints so far.

Your choice. You can see what fetches a good price in Colonia in EDDB, but frankly, shipping anything there just for the commodity value would be a losing proposition - your ship's repair needs would probably eat up all the profits.

From a RP perspective, anything that is needed for a good christmas celebration. Various selections of rare goods (drinkable, eatable, smokeable) have already been posted here and in the Discord channels. However, getting a decent freighter filled up with rares would be a challenge.

Then there's drzdeano, who wants to ship occupied escape pods - Jaques needs more inhabitants.

And finally, there's the suggestion to ship some meta alloys, because trolls.

Oh, and if you want to switch from freelancer to carrier, check your guns. Carriers shouldn't carry big guns, i.e. have to rely on the escorts to get them out of trouble.

I only have two pulse lasers. Not done much combat in my current ship.

Would it be worth brining a AFMS on the trip? I've never really done such a long haul. Im umming over a 3 slot one or giving up some cargo space for a 5 slot one :/

Remember that the outfitting at Jacques is poor. Shipping high value internals all the way out is expensive. If Jacques is to be your new home then consider equipping the most expensive modules, not the most useful. This convoy is a great opportunity. You will have protectors, so ditch that weaponry. There are support fuel tankers.. so risk that lower fuel scoop... My point is that there will be lots of us so there is support; which is the reason why this is such a great undertaking. Think about the actions you will take once you get there rather than the journey. There are many commanders watching your back, looking to assist you, so the route is the safest element of this adventure.

Use the support of the convoy to set up for a great future at Jacques, as this is the purpose of such a convoy. stronger together.

Unless you want to follow Judge Rhadamanthus' suggestion and think about what you'd need there - not really. There's a repair and resupply depot roughly every 4000 ly on that trip now, so even if you're thoroughly out of luck, you're at the most 2000 ly from a depot. Depending on your current ship layout, I'd rather bring a SRV.

My Cobra is being reassembled.

I am under the impression that these stations are outposts and larger ships may want to bring AFMU's.

I am in a cutter, so I will bring a 6A AFMU for two reasons. Firstly cost. Mine cost 15 million. That's a whole heap to transfer out after i arrive. Secondly it is as Echo Wake says; Large pads are few and far between, so a modicum of self sufficiency is required. This is the ship i am bringing.

Fortunately (for those with large ships) your impression is wrong:

I don't have a picture of Amundsen Terminal - probably forgot it, since I was in hurry at that time.

Awesome. I will do a little rethink on my T-9 with regards to AFMU's. I'll still probably take at least 1 for good measure.

Might be worth it, bearing in mind the increased number of jumps you'll have to make.

Regarding the AFMU and weapons... the relevant question is... What am I going to do after I reach Jaques?

If you plan on exploring near Jaques (and there is plenty to explore nearby) you don't need either. If you plan on continuing on towards Sag-A or anywhere else then you'd be better off having one. Same if you want to use Neutron Boost for fun (or to save you some of the aggravation of jumping over and over again).

If you're touching Jaques and heading back to the bubble then you may think about packing weapons and anything you may need to survive interdiction during your return. Specially if you are not flying a "runner" build. If you plan on staying near Jaques you may want to pack enough to do at least some light bounty hunting. If you're devious, you'll carry something nice that you can transfer to a Viper III.

The outfitting around Colonia is rather basic.

Yeah, the limitation here is Horizons, not ship size...

I am sorry, but I have to bother you with a change, too. #12 will be an Imperial Clipper named "Vanguard" now instead.
