[CCN] The Christmas Carriers Convoy

Anyone near Skaude/Skaudai, check out SKAUDE AA-A H294. It's a tourist mission destination with two black holes, two ringed neutrons and a ringed star. It's called Collection of Wonders in tourist contracts. It's 400-500ly away from the Skaudai meet-up point.

... but I can't figure out what destroyed my ship. I'm in a system that is uninhabited and was unexplored until I came upon it today.

Thargoids? I remember reading that someone from Frontier said that are already things in the game that have not yet been discovered. Maybe you found something, although this message is not really soothing. I wonder if someone with an empty bay could rescue you. Not sure if this would work.

I guess that today's event on 1800 IGT already happened. I am in US/CA and cannot make it for that time, or are folks still around?

I managed to get to Eagle Landing just in time yesterday night. It was a nice change to see a settlement after 7000Ly of jumping. I went straight for Eagle Landing after:
- starting on launch day in Miami
- flying my T9 tanker to Hillary Depot
- realizing that I should not have taken the 12 Ly jump range ship on that trip
- blowing myself up to get quickly back to the bubble
- realizing that I should have read the manual and realized that I get a free Sidey and not my money from the insurance when using this a s a fast way to travel
- then grinding some missions to get my T9 back
- refitting my Asp Explorer to optimize for long distance travel and
- using the Neutron Highway to get to Eagle Landing in time for the meetup

This Neutron Highway is a blast and breaks up travel into nice chunks. My refitted Asp is home to a 6A fuel scoop and I am like a spinning pebble hitting the water surface when filling up. A big contrast to my 3A scoop on the tanker.

Anyway, I am back as a Freelancer this time and I am looking forward to continue the journey with all of you! What a blast!

In light of the destruction of my craft, which I shall blame on those godless, human hating Thargoids, I've been respawned at Eagle's Landing, obviously with no cargo. All that lost beer, liquor and tobacco!!!! There's no way I'm turning around, so instead I will continue onward to Colonia so that I can at least supply them with exploration data.

Still, I'll never trust a Thargoid.

Disaster strikes!

While in the SKAUDE ZF-V D3-409 system, I landed my T-6 on a planet and was out and about in my SRV looking for useful materials. While several kilometers away from my ship, I get a message that the mothership is under attack. Before I can make it back, the ship is destroyed and I sit here stranded in my SRV. The loss of cargo and exploration data is bad enough (comes with the territory), but I can't figure out what destroyed my ship. I'm in a system that is uninhabited and was unexplored until I came upon it today. Scanned the entire system and there are no outputs, no life. Nothing. I put in a ticket with FDev just in case this is a bug.

Anyway, this is very much a bummer. I guess I'll end up being respawned in the Bubble? Should I resume the journey? I'm not sure what to do now.

Check out your player journal.

It will be interesting what FDEV says when they reply to your ticket.

What happened that caused the ship to eject a ton of liquor might have something to do with it. The aliens got drunk :D

Just tested -- Silent Running can be activated while landed. If you turned it on by accident, and then left the ship, it would fit what happened.

You can always fill your cargo with mining materials if you can find someone in CCC with rafinery and mining laser to help you out,
or you can find some minerals with SRV on planets... it will only take as long as 2 months to fill up, possibly 3.

The Sacagawea-Girgarin-Neutron-Passage

For those of you who about to travel from Sacagawea Star Port to Girgarin Gate the Colonia Militia Force has mapped a neutron star passage.
It works both ways and presumes a normal hyperjump range of 25 ly, or 100 ly supercharged, so it should work for short-range transporters.

Find details at:
https://www.edsm.net/en/galactic-routes/show/id/400/name/The+Sacagawea-Girgarin-Neutron-Passage

and:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxkLQbv1Up7-VGJ2SFp2X3BCSm8/view

Please mind:

- neutron jumping damages your FSD, AFMU recommended
- watch your fuel level
- do not exit the game when you are around a neutron star, because you could respawn too close to it when reloading!
- you should be able to move much faster than I did while charting

Fly save!

[I know that there are very nice neutron-highway-tools available, such as www.spansh.co.uk, but as I had such a nice discoverer feeling while doing it, I felt like sharing it :)]

Nice shots, Drumatiko! I've only just arrived at the halfway camp (base camp 4).

Just got a couple of fines for loitering (driving my SRV too close to landing pads on base camp 4). How does one pay these off? Sacaqawea doesn't have contacts...

Wow! Thank you so much. I am a Neutron Highway Junky now and my trip to Eagle Landing was just a breeze. My jump range is 26Ly and a bit and this would work well. Spansh is usually my friend for plotting the route but the best it coughed up was 100 jumps. Yours is 63. That sounds perfect! [up]

Thank you! I will give it a try once I had my stop at Sacagawea Space Port.

Fly safe! o7
