CG... gone?

That's leaving my kids starving... ppl mining VO and Painite in PG/Solo (can't see traders around).The last three CGs led by active PMFs have been a blast... it looks they're gone for now, and there's not much to do for pirates.

Please restore the CG cycle as it has been for years!

II starts before December update...
PC CG will return AFTER that II and Update are over or released...
PFC will alter CGs for ever... as players will then be able to jump 500Ly as long as they have fuel...
this will mean that any station with in 500lys will be the target collection location for the players that own PFC..

Yes, I miss the CG's. They're inconsistent, as are the interstellar ones too. How difficult would it be to have one (or even two or three) event(s) running at any one time? Regular activities........piracy good times......robbing traders with bounty hunters, white knights and trader escorts fighting back and trying to stop us
 
K but we have seen many players dropping and looking for something else......
This is what makes me sad. I recently switched to PC, but many of my beloved "forum friends" have quit the game thanks to Frontier's continued ineptitude over the last year. That's not to say there aren't people playing, but too many good people I personally know have been pushed away, leaving the galaxy feel "empty" even on PC.

They were removed specificity because the "whiners" did not want the same thing every week as has been run since CGs started...
The IIs were introduced to remove the same thing every week and add Month/4 week long events less offen...
The whiners won... so now only PC CGs are run ( player created community goals) as fdev will run IIs instead of creating weekly..
So the whiners got new content but less of it created by Fdev and more created by Players...

Edit = Depending on were PFC entry point is per system pirates will only have the distance from PFC to station to pull targets from super cruse and with out docking permission the PFC will fire on other ships as it has self defence weapons so attacking ships at a PFC might be risky depening on if they have capital megaship or station level fire power...

We (our pirate faction I mean) liked a lot the players' CG... the problem is that now the list is empty and besides it's ok to spend a week grinding or exploring, or even trying CQC for us, at the end what happened at the CG is what captures the most of both us and the community attention. Without the CG, the community players will be suddenly bored to do the same grind/exploring/whatever for weeks. That's really sad.
 
I've been away from the game for a long time, and finally set up my VR headset and decided to start playing a little. The last two years, what little time I put on the game was doing bounty hunting CGs. Those were exciting because I could earn a worthwhile amount of money compared to regular bounty hunting. I don't understand most of the acronyms used in this thread so I'm not sure why CGs are gone, but either way that sucks. Makes me less motivated to play.

Has there been an official word about the fact that the CGs are suspended/over ? Or is this discussion speculation ?
 
You make it sound like malicious compliance.
I wouldn't say malicious - just another case of "the community" asking for something it didn't actually want, or "the community" asking for something while "the community" didn't notice it was going on to counter it.

And people had been voting with their feet on the weekly CGs for a while, with participation down from about 10,000/week to about 2,500/week so changing up the format made sense as an idea.

- about 4 weeks of Interstellar Initiative (II) which includes CGs and other things in a multi-week story
- two or three weeks of one player-submitted CG each (usually trade or mining, because that's what players submit)
- a pause while the next Interstellar Initiative is prepared (possibly right now a slightly longer pause because they don't want to start it until the recent 3.5 release is stable)

The days of "two CGs a week, every week" are over, though.

Thanks. Well that's a shame, usually I had about 70% chance of finding a bounty hunting CG when I logged in to the game. Checking INARA I did notice the last few onew didn't reach the higher reward tiers...

I wonder why there couldn't be some automatic barebones community goals generated every week for each profession, the sam way the game generates random missions.

I think they are going to fix a couple of bugs first but that they are coming back.

I strip tourist boats in anarchies at the moment
 
There hasn't been a single CG since I switched to PC, and I'll go to the next one just to say "Hi" to folks.
"Hi" as in "hi eat my gimballed frags"? 😜

I think it's very annoying that we went from "urgh every week the same boring CGs" to "no CG at all"...
CGs were always a nice place to meet people, not only the gimballed frags types but all people.
Be it for organic PvP, winged up haz rez combat, piracy or some sitting in port talking.

Granted, we in Colonia get shafted regarding CGs anyways, but I always liked the occasional one.
