I did manage to catchup with a runaway once using a racing Viper - the structure only got a few hundred kilometres away before also being dropped out of the navigational frame, and I was able to catch up and scan a few things before the navigational frame went out of range and it vanished. Probably somewhat luck-based as to what's caught it, though, as to whether that's possible.

Testament is really moving - SC-Assist failed to even catch up to it in supercruise, I had to manually fly to it. It wasn't any slower when I dropped :)

Also - I tried to find Perdition - which should be in Witch Head Sector DL-Y d9 I think (given where Testament is). No sign, though I guess I could have missed it 🤷‍♀️ Edit: Someone else spotted it - I had indeed just missed it :)

DELIVER GUARDIAN ARTEFACTS TO THE BRIGHT SENTINEL IN HIP 22460​

Azimuth Biotech urgently requires deliveries of Guardian artefacts to HIP 22460 as vital components of the Proteus Wave. The top 75% of contributors will recieve will receive an Azimuth Deliverance paintjob for the Krait Mk II, Eagle and Fer-de-Lance. The first stage of the campaign begins on the 5th July 3308 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

Federation Targets Narcotics Syndicate​


The Federal Intelligence Agency has launched a multi-system crackdown against the organised crime network known as Red Family.
Synchronised raids are currently taking place in over a dozen systems across Federal space. Multiple ships, properties and manufacturing plants connected to Red Family’s illegal operations are being seized.
FIA Deputy Director Bethany Blake provided a statement to The Federal Times:
“For decades the Red Family cartel has trafficked colossal quantities of dangerous drugs to our citizens, leaving a trail of death and misery behind them. The FIA dealt a severe blow to the syndicate in 3305, but its kingpin Oberon Church escaped justice and remains one of the most wanted criminals in the Federation.”
“This current operation was only possible thanks to the Proactive Detection Bureau. Our algorithms intercepted key messages that identified Red Family’s allies within local security forces and legal businesses.”
“Field agents are now making mass arrests, despite armed resistance at many locations. This time we will locate Church and take him into custody, which will cause his organisation to crumble.”
The Proactive Detection Bureau monitors all communications within the Federation to identify illegal activity and prevent terrorism. It was established in 3307 when new public surveillance laws were passed in the wake of large-scale attacks by the NMLA.

Well, on the one hand the new experimental additions do seem to have scaled up the shutdown protection to cover the capital ship effectively - if that can be mass-produced it'll make it a lot harder for them to attack stations in future.

On the other hand, they can presumably still just shoot out the heat relays normally.
