CG predictions...

As the system came up, it's worth noting azimuth may have to win a few wars in a row to get back to any reasonable influence out there.

Anyways, CG land.

Kietrax wrote the CG posts on monday and tuesay last week, so it is possible he could do the same again this week..
but with a combat CG still running im expecting a tuesday off... and the AX CG to keep running but with size 1 shard cannons offered...
You forgot the 'Lavecon' effect! Both Kietrax and myself were there all weekend and didn't get around to creating the new CG thread until just before it was due to start! Even then, the heat got to him and he was late posting it; also I was distracted with something else so didn't notice! :ROFLMAO:

Salvation supplies ... week 2 quantities down 10% on week 1, but down 20% on participants so the average per participant actually increased.
It'll be interesting to see if the same pattern continues in week 3.

...and I see that the AX community goal reached its trillion a day and a bit early. Maybe Salvation doesn't actually have a superweapon, he's just told the Thargoids he does so that they make easy pickings for AX groups?

And the top 10 in that AX CG have earned the equivalent of 1-2 new fleet carriers.

I still wonder why no one has yet come up with the obvious solution to Thargoid attacks ? Just deposit large amounts of Guardian stuff a long distance away from any human influence sphere, moths to the flame.

Wouldn’t that just divert them temporarily? Could be a “we need time to evacuate the Bubble” kind of CG, though

I delivered around 40% more on the second week and did not work as hard as during the first one.
During the 1st week I SRV collected and was mainly focused on Guardian Artefacts and totems.
During the 2nd week I could not care less and hanged upside down abowe the site launching limpets. :p

And now, during the 3rd week .. I just arrived to a Guardian site this morning and could not be bothered to collect anything but left my Cmdr hanging upside down there...

No new news wednesday so hopefully AX CG phase 2 is a go thursday... Nice easy CG for flossy to run 👋 with only a few Minor edits...
Hand in hearts not combat bonds... get medium or hopefully LARGE weapons...

Sirius is in the house. Well, in the 3rd m/s anyway

Damn - I was hoping for the Far God :)

edit: And the status message (08:00) seems to imply an upcoming AX CG (not a big surprise)

CRIMINALS CRUSHED BY FEDERAL CAMPAIGN
21 JUL 3308
Pilots’ Federation ALERT

A Federal operation in the Andowatye system has finally brought down the Red Family crime syndicate.

Executive Agent Faisal Sacranie of the Federal Intelligence Agency announced the successful conclusion:

“I am pleased to confirm that FIA agents were able to capture Oberon Church, the so-called ‘man of smoke’, as well as his surviving lieutenants. With its kingpin’s arrest and most remaining forces destroyed, the Red Family organisation no longer exists as a functional crime organisation.”

“On behalf of the FIA, I am grateful to all pilots who helped eliminate these felons. The United Andowatye Democrats will redeem bounty vouchers for all contributors at Bosch Station in the Andowatye system.”

Vice President Jerome Archer gave a statement to The Federal Times:

“One of the Federation’s most notorious organised crime networks has been eradicated, largely due to vital information obtained by the Proactive Detection Bureau. Its ability to unearth enemies of the Federation and bring them to justice remains unparalleled.”

The Proactive Detection Bureau was created when Vice President Archer successfully passed public surveillance legislation in 3307. Political commentators have theorised that Archer’s presidential campaign next year will stress the PDB’s role in high-profile victories such as the defeat of Jupiter’s Wrath and Red Family.

Medium weapons AX CG..
The top 50% of contributors will receive one medium Salvation Gauss Cannon. The top 25% of contributors will receive two medium Salvation Gauss Cannons. In support of the anti-thargoid efforts, a variety of AX weapons are now available to purchase at the Musashi.

gib Huge AX Weapons for my Vette - that would be a reward !

... oh an not just some simple Multis. I want the flashy stuff! Huge Plasma Chargers would be a solid start ...

I'm so confused with all the AX weapon options. Are these size 2 Salvation Gauss better or worse than the standard gauss from the tech broker? I did see an old thread that said they do less damage, are shorter ranged, use more power and give off more heat. I'm trying to build an AX ship and I dont want to waste my last weapon blueprint.

If you can aim there Worse... if you can't aim there better...
If you aim with non salvation augmented weapon (saw) that are purchased with cash and miss you wasted all the ammo and damage, if You aim and miss with the saw purchaed with mats you have 3 more shots to try to hit with... (these are allready in the tech broker labelled modified yes)
These are the same as rail guns from empire.. imperial hammers allow you to miss some shots and still do damage with the rest of the rounds...
Guardian weapons are only needed for bigger than Cyclops kills...

The View from the Front Line

Vox Galactica reporter Jade Sanderlyn has broadcast an update on the conflict taking place in the HIP 22460 system.
“The fierce fighting in HIP 22460 has intensified over the past week. Swarms of Thargoid vessels can be encountered throughout the system, cutting down any ill-prepared ships within range. The combined human forces are battling furiously to diminish the alien fleet.”
“A total of seven capital ships, all armed with experimental weaponry, are now providing support for AX squadrons. I’ve been mesmerised by the intense volleys of energy beams that flash from these gigantic craft, seeking out the dark-hulled Thargoids as they swoop and spin with an eerie grace. Distance offers these sights a strange beauty, a distraction from the ugly fact that many lives are lost with each skirmish.”
“It appears the Alliance’s military pact with Sirius Corporation is starting to gain traction. The megaship El Centinela Cadejo recently arrived in Pleiades Sector CW-U B3-2 from Arimpox, providing logistical support for the Alliance Defence Force in HIP 22460. My military contacts inform me that Azimuth Biotech had sought to restrict Sirius Corporation vessels from participating in the Proteus Wave campaign, perhaps fearful of corporate espionage. Li Yong-Rui would approve of the rather deliberate choice to move El Centinela Cadejo to the same system as Azimuth’s Musashi and Glorious Prospect megaships.”
“Meanwhile, the hellish situation in HIP 22460 rages on. I’ve reported from several battlefields, but this one is something of an endurance test. Every day I watch squadrons deploy to a conflict, and every day watch them return with fewer vessels. All I can do is hope that this carnage will eventually lead to something worthwhile.”
“This is Jade Sanderlyn for Vox Galactica. Stay safe out there.”

Most people agree that the modified gauss are worse. They split the same amount of damage over four shots, meaning you have to stay on target for all of those shots to land instead of just one single round. Combine that with their shorter effective range and they end up doing significantly less damage.
(This is different from imperial hammers, which do significantly more damage if you can land all three shots.)

They were reasonably popular before the last update because you could load them with premium ammo and each round would apply the same damage as an unmodified premium gauss shot, meaning they were doing 4x damage compared to unmodified gauss. That exploit has been fixed.
