CG Top 25% Deserve Something Extra

Wow! This last CG generated more that it's share of salt already! Give it a break! Frontier might just decide to stop doing CGs if we commanders pile on like this every time.

If they did that there would be a bunch of players who would moan that there’s nothing to do. Anyways if Fdev didn’t bring back CG’s in the first place then this thread wouldn’t exist.

But they would eventually leave for SC and it would quieten down......lol can't keep it going haha!

Top 25% didn't do anything special. This CG wasn't particularly hard. The reason why FD decided to give 25% to 75%, as I see it, is because it ended prematurely, before a lot of players, who almost got there, had no chance to push higher. Some folks are busy, so dividing CG grind day by day only makes sense. They probably didn't expect so many players would pile up on it for this juicy drive. We can say they messed up and tiers should've been made higher in the first place, but I don't think anyone really expected it will be done so fast. I sure as hell didn't either. It's a good gesture by devs, considering circumstances, one they still have to keep, though...

Hilarious thread.
Look at me. I'm special.

Yes, those who spent huge effort and hours of their time to reach and maintain their ranks to get the top tier rewards (based on CG rules anyway) should feel special compared to those who did less. They deserve it and FDEV should not have changed the rules of the rewards after the CG ended.

No.
This is not the first CG, and not the first CG in this new run of CG's.
The reward tiers are clearly laid out at the start (although the rewards scale up as the CG gets completed).
If you contribute, you get something.
If you contribute more than others you get more than others.
That is how the CGs work, and have worked for a long time now.

If you don't like that, TOUGH. You don't deserve something extra just because Frontier did a thing that benefited others and didn't negatively affect those higher up.

Seriously, the entitlement is pathetic.

That doesn't make sense. You just contradicted yourself.
I'll quote...
"If you contribute more than others you get more than others.

Followed by...

"If you don't like that, TOUGH. You don't deserve something extra just because Frontier did a thing that benefited others and didn't negatively affect those higher up"

If you get more for contributing more than others in the CG and the CG ends then Frontier change the rules after the CG ends to benefit others then how can you get more for contributing more than others during the CG.
You just said you Contribute more than others, You get more than others. Then say afterwards, tough you don't. How does that work.

Thank you. Exactly.
Problem is, Tiers got changed after the CG was over.

I disagree with every word.
It did not end prematurely, it ended when the limit was reached.
Everyone could estimate the finish time by watching the progress on first day.
Staying in the top 25% was hard, else there had not been so many complains about it.

You probably need to have done hard work at least once in your live to understand the problem.

Most of the game is fun, yes. But this CG was not at all about the money, it was about the module. People wanted it so much that they invested lots of time in that tedious menial grinding activity to stay in top 25%. Happy that it was over so quick. And no, this part was not fun. But the module was worth the effort.

Giving it now to all the others, maybe even two, when they dabbled a little bit in both, but still not invested half the effort, is a stab in the back for the people who went out of their way to earn it the original way.

People made their participation decision during the CG based on the rules. If the rules were different, they would have made different decisions. Changing the rules afterwards is a betrayal to all those people, who were conned into acting in a way, that they would not have done, when the rules were changed before the CG.
"Stab in the back"
"Betrayal"
"Conned"

Get a grip.

Also, that first line reminded me of Zoolander's Dad.

You might be able to empathize, but that is how many players feel.
I missed out on the module entirely on two accounts, because I decided not to participate due to the high 25% requirement, and seeing the early numbers (participation but also delivered stats) suggested it would be an awful rat race, which I have no interest in taking part in in my free time playing a game for fun.

Frontier should probably not change their mind after the fact, I'm sure they meant well but moving goalposts is usually not a good idea unless something messed up.

But then again I already forgot it even happened, not owning the module will not be the end of the world for me (even though I would've found it quite useful as a PvE player who spends their entire time in Open, including hostile player hotspots).

As a result, I don't engage in whining and crying about it here because quite frankly I'd find that too embarrassing, over a computer game of all things. Some people act as if both their account and credit card got wiped out. All over a single module, which yields a slightly marginal benefit.

Hi,
I got top 25% in this community goal.

I have no issue at all with top 75% getting the FSDs in the trade and combat goals.

I thought the way the goals were set up first, disadvantaged non fleet carrier owners, and ppl who were not combat players. I was lucky to get in the top 25%, but later thought about how hard and unfair that was. It killed you to do it, but Frontier acted fairly towards others by rewarding them too.

This is a good outcome, thank you Frontier.
