Yeah definitely important to change kickstarter and elite store passwords. I know lots of people use the same email password combination on lots of different sites.

Sort of sobering when something like this happens.

Kickstarter got hacked

Hey guys just a heads up got an email from Kickstarter saying they have been hacked no credit card info was taken but peoples passwords they are encrypted but they recommend you change your password and any other websites you use the same password for as well.

Seriously, why isn't there a stickied link to the Kickstarter blog along with some basic security advice at the top of the Private Backer's Forum, with stickied links to it in all the other forums?

This trickle of new threads from people who are only trying their best to be helpful is going to continue as people who've had busy weekends are only just getting around to checking their e-mail or reading the tech news. And I'd expect a mini flood on Monday morning, too.

Many forumites have given up on searching the forum directly due to the poor search engine, and a search for "kickstarter" will obviously yield hundreds of hits anyway. A bold, stickied, capitalised KICKSTARTER HACK - ADVICE TO ELITE BACKERS near the top of every subforum would catch most people coming here to post about it and perhaps draw the attention of those who don't already know but who check the forum more often than they check their e-mail.

I haven't !!!

The link took me to an email.....Not sure it was real....I get the same thing from pay pal, Ebay, and Barcleys etc on a regular basis
