Changes to the galaxy map in 3.0 enabling interesting BGS intelligence

Noticed the ability going forward to track which commodities are being traded and where by commanders.

This will provide a useful way for commanders playing bgs to identify systems that are being destabilised by commanders delivering nefarious items such as thargoid probes or weapons.

This should allow counter measures to be taken earlier to prevent certain states occurring. Alternatively affirmative action could be taken more easily to induce certain states.

Good point... its one of the hardest things to track - in fact it can only be inferred after the fact.

All this trade stuff is great. My own dreams for the galmap are so much more basic, one day maybe they'll appear.

  • Add 'select all' and 'select none' options to every list in the systems filter (state, economy, government, star type, etc)
  • Make those filters cumulative so that I can show (for example) Federation anarchy systems in a war state, or populated class A star systems (all government types other than 'none')

I think they might forget that console players can't simply sweep the whole list with one click, which is what they did for PC presumably to avoid having to have a button.

Presuming here that you're on console...because if not, you can sweep the whole list with one click & drag.

I'm on PC and I'd never even tried click and drag because it's not something that usually works with checkboxes in games, cheers for that. I've only got about 3,000 hours in the game :D If it's functionality that's not available for console users though, I'd still say the select all/none options would be a good idea (and should be fairly trivial to add).

It's the second one that I really want though. It's just poor functionality that if I want to find say an anarchy system in boom for example, I need to select anarchy systems and then mouse over them at random until I find one in boom, or select boom systems and then mouse over until I find an anarchy, when the game clearly has the underlying functionality to filter the view by both of those characteristics.
