ChangoDock.com Travel Planner

Nicely done. A bit of a display problem when viewed in the Safari browser in iOS (menu bar repositions over drop down box)
Seems to work OK in Chrome though
Thanks for reporting! I fixed it by making the menubar static instead of fixed at the top. Works better now on my iPad. Is it also solved for you?

Update:
- Changed the layout of the route to also reflect the government. Anarchy stands out with a red label. (Thanks to SlimExpert for the idea)

The ships and system are now kind of static. I will try to keep them up to date. Report anything missing in this thread please.

Very nice tool with lots of potential. Might I suggest getting in touch with Andreas who created marketdump and Elite Market Data Network (EMDN). EMDN uses ElasticSearch which is extremely scalable and awful fast. It can stores all sorts of data. I can imagine it becoming THE place to store all ED related data. Atm so much very useful data is scattered in multiple spreadsheet/tools. Your tool can then retrieve ships info, system info from there and become dynamic. Its still in Alpha and atm basically only used to store market data. Its only client afaik is BPC. I can be mistaken about the usability for your tool but sending a PM to him could clear this up and perhaps some magic can come from it ;-)

It might also be useful if it doesn't let you try to refuel at a system without a space station (at least until fuel scooping is implemented :D)

Try setting the following:
Ship: Hauler
Outfit: 0 tonnes
Cargo: 16 tonnes
Travel From: G 239-25 (Bresnik Mine)
Travel to: LHS 3262 (Louis De Lacaille Prospect)

It will tell you to refuel in Lalande 29917. The only issue is, there isn't a space station in that system :p

You know you can refuel by setting a distress beacon right? It is more expensive but it saves a lot of time.

Oh, I was under the impression that the distress beacon could also attract less than honourable NPCs to my location, which I would like to avoid with a hauler.

If that's not the case, a deep space refill could be worth it with certain profit margins.

I know that with a distress beacon refuelling with a hauler is just over 1k. With the Type 6 I am flying now, it is ~5200 cr.
I will build the alternative routes for refuelling at a station and at a non-anarchy system.

Hey great app. I have a question.

Did you datamine the coordinates for systems to determine distance (LY) or are these jumps determined by hand, via in-game experimentation?

This is significant because if you did the former, we can expect this tool to remain functional when the game goes live and an exponentially greater # of systems are released.

Thanks again.

Yeah the coordinates come from the client. You can see the source in this thread.
I will expect we need to find things manually in the future perhaps. So when they add more systems to the game, then I can use help from people to get the data.

Completely waste of time and useless.... the destination EARTH isn't contained

Now jokes apart, EXCELLENT little thing it is, thnks!!!

A layout suggestion

The ships page has some scannability problems. It's not very readable.

Might I suggest you restructure the .col-md-4 -> table part so that it is .col-md-12 -> table (containing the 3 ships in a 'row' of ships, e.g. Sidewinder, Eagle and hauler as the page is now.). This will align the table cells nicely.

Let me know if you need a hand. I know my way around bootstrap etc.
