Newcomer / Intro Chat Avatar / Holo-Me Update?

Is there any way to update the avatars shown in the chat?
My wing mates updated theirs but it doesn't show in the chat.
If I target them through contacts, I see the updated picture.


Are they maybe saved locally somewhere?

On Windows, check "%LOCLAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\CommanderHistory"; IIRC that stores information about other players you've met, but mine is empty currently due to copious use of solo mode so I can't really check.

I'm mining currently so I can't log out.
However, the file is not even 6kb. I doubt there is a picture in there somewhere.
