Hardware & Technical Choices, choices....

Well, it looks like my current setup has finally been beaten by spurious static electricity and both the motherboard and graphic cards have been affected.

Soo.... looking at replacing the mother board, CPU and graphic card. Power supply and memory are fine and will be carried over. So without further ado, here are my choices:

Choice 1:

Thanks, I'm kind of leaning toward 2 also, just somewhat nervous on the 970 as I did have bad experiences with Nvidia cards in the past.

That sounds great, if a little out of my price range... not including that I'd have to also change the memory. Unfortunately, what's above is about what I can get locally for the price range. Besides, the blocker really is the GPU as the CPU longevity is much better - About the only reason I'm even looking for the I7 is some future proofing as incoming games will begin to make better use of the multi-cores available on CPU's.

And while I'd love to wait for the new I5s, the machine is broken now.
