Circumnavigation of the Galaxy list

I didn't go that far down in mine, but I did go as far down each arm as I could get. It just wasn't that far into the Vacuus with a 25.7ly jump range and no jumponium (pre-engineer launch).

I think cutting it off completely at the Formidine Rift is bit cheaty though :p

Show me your plot please and I will make a decision.

If this could be added to the OP, would be great. :)

Green = systems on the very edge of the galaxy
Purple = areas where jumponium and manual plotting needed but not quite on the edge
Red = 'normal' space

(I had previously explored much of the south eastern part of the rim so decided not to duplicate it all)

Starting point: Shinrarta Dezhra, then Colonia 24/07/3303
Reached western rim: 25/07/3303
Completed circumnavigation: 06/09/3303
Returned to Colonia: 08/09/3303
Total trip time: 47 days

Number of jumps: 8,475
Total jump distance: 652,212 LY
Average distance per jump: 77.0 LY
Jumponium boosts: 4,178 (2056 basic, 1092 standard, 1030 premium)
Jet cone boosts: 171
Credits: 973 million

163 landings
SRV distance: approx 8,300 km

Very nice, well done.
Could you supply CMDR name and Ship type please?

What details would you like, i did it in approx 3 weeks (was already elite as i had visited Sag A/ colonia already, 16th april 2017), 3-4 hours a night except weekends when i did approx 14 hours straight per day (surprised i'm still married...lol), made about 700mill.

Asp exp jump range approx 48LY (can't check as i'm next to voyager 1 waiting for my mate in Sol system), jumped/honked then looked at system map, only scanned ELW/water and ammonia. Had to switch off VR as it was doing my head in!!

I aint doing it again...lol

I was going to try VR let me know when it gets better!

Thanks for the info, LY's traveled and number of systems visited if you can please.

VR's brilliant, however i had to take it off so i could access system and galaxy maps faster etc (faster to zoom onto planets and stars), saved me time....so i stopped using it for long hauls... but for immersion you cant beat it.
LY's travelled and systems was on the second picture but here it is again..... https://i.imgur.com/JhRV5QE.png

I've estimated that to Buckyball a circumnavigation in, say, a 60ly modded Anaconda would take somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 hours. This can vary widely depending on how much backtracking up the arms is needed. While I've done marathon sessions in the past, 120 hours straight is just a bit out of my endurance range. ;P Also, keep in mind that such a run would not allow for any scanning beyond the typical honk in a system.

This run I'm traveling more like I do on the way back from Beagle, rather than going toward it. Basically, it's the "Oooh, shiny!" method of exploration. Normally, it'll be a honk-and-scoop, with a few seconds extra taken to see what's in the system. I'll usually stop for ELWs, WWs, AWs, and if the body is either close enough or interesting enough to scan. (A few nights ago, I found myself saying, "But it's a pretty HMCW!")

Now, I have imagined another possibility for such a run - a possible proposal for charity. You'd either need three gaming/scifi conventions going on in the same weekend on different continents, or three places on those continents that have bulletproof-reliable internet. Take an Anaconda. Anaconda can have a crew of up to three. Take three locations around the world - Australia, the UK, and the US would work - and hopefully those locations themselves have small teams available. Basically, race an Anaconda nonstop around the galaxy. When it's time for the Australians to go to bed, the British take over; when the British go to bed, the Americans take over. A fun idea in theory, but scary to contemplate in practice.

That sounds about right, I think a considerable portion of the time involved for me was spent gathering Jumponium that was necessary to reach some of points waaaay out there. Also with the figures I posted, I should mention that nearly all synthed jumps were necessary and not out of convenience. Guess it just really depends on which you want to hit on your way around

Thanks to all CMDS for the supplied information.

Some truly Epic voyages!
