When they showed the model of the Sprint 500 during the live stream people in the chat all said "Formula Rossa" and the guy with the beard said something like "they've already figured out what we modeled the coaster after" - so yeah, Formula Rossa was definitely the inspiration. They also said that they put their own spin on things to not make it a 1:1 model recreation of any existing coaster.
