Horizons Cobra Mk IV???

I took a long break from Elite, but found a free docked MkIV waiting for me when I came back. I sold it straight away as I didn't really feel like I'd earned it.

are you sure you are not thinking about the VIPER mkIV?

I had to buy the cobra but got a free viper iirc, unless i have another ship lying around somewhere (possible)

I only recently flew the mark IV and was somewhat relived to see there at least were minor changes to the cockpit.
Sure, it was only the colour of a few decals and lighting, but something is better than nothing, which is what the viper, the keelback and (I presume) the asp scout got with a simple cut and paste of other ships cockpit, inc wear and tear..

The newsletter also refers to the ship as the "formidable" MkIV. There are many adjectives that can be applied to this ship, and some of them are even quite positive. But "formidable" isn't just a stretch, it's an outright lie. Given that it's used in the context of getting people to part with money, I find it a little distasteful. But then I guess that's marketing at work: annoying the knowledgeable is greatly offset by convincing the ignorant to buy.

I suggest the Cobra MK IV and Viper IV be renamed to Cobra MK II and Viper II respectively. You know it makes sense.
Unfortunately.

I find it being lying.
Fraudulent, once again.

If the thing went a reasonable speed, or class 4 engines could get some kind of enhancement like 1-3, it would rock. I find it very tanky and fun to fly, but the speed makes it a deathtrap most times.
