Cobra Mk V and more...

Cobra V is in the Elite Dangerous Wiki. Its a medium ship, which is a disappointment. Cobras should be small ships as the III and IV are.

I actually expected a Saud Kruger ship for SCO -- say an Orca Mark II -- as the 4th new ship.
The wiki text is outdated, as it's based on the information of the October livestream. This has been corrected last week.

The Vulture's shields aren't that good though...are they?
My Couriers shields are generally alot better.
My "best" builds get just about similar shield strengths, but that leaves the iCourier still with a ricepaper hull while the Vulture could ram through a Coriolis station. And that's without considering the armaments. The courier is still a bit faster, though, and definitely gets a better jump range. I tried a rail Courier once, but for one thing, rails aren't my kind of weapons (polite expression for "I can't hit a barn from the inside with them") and their power requirements were too much for the rest of my loadout.
Vulture
iCourier

Vulture
iCourier
These are my builds - mostly for PvP;

iCourier (500HP of hull - 1439MJ of shields)
Vulture (3007HP of hull - 379MJ of shields)

I suppose it's a power thing with the Vulture, it's armoured powerplant and undersized fast-charging shields just make the most sense to me...
The Courier relies on it's very good speed...but when those shields get low, it's time to run!

The Vulture has a maneuverability of 5 units (Clipper,Mandalay), the iCourier only 4 (ASP-EX,FAS).

UPD. Maybe the CobraV will have the greatest maneuverability in the game? Even more than the Eagle.

Another one for the collection.
As we are getting colonisation, can we also get a Museum module?
I'd like to stick my cobra's and fed ships in there.
I beat you to it.

I prefer a new Gutamaya ship focused in combat, not in the line of the multipurpose Clipper and Cutter, all of their specialised combat ships are small. Also it fits in the lore as a "counter" to the Corvette.
Agreed.

In PVE, an engineered courier can just about stay out of firing arc of Corvettes, Anacondas and FDLs, and can hold the tail of Pythons. It still takes ages to wear down the shields & hull, even with complimentary engineering such as Cytoscramblers paired with Corrosive Multicannon. But when your enemy brings any turrets then you can expect your shields to drop before you can take them out.

I'd love to have something that could be the same counter in PVP, with many small hardpoints giving access to a variety of weaponry and game play. A small mine launcher with Reverb cascade to do bombing runs against 10MJ cutters, a small missile with Grom bombs to stop them from escaping, Scramble Spectrum laser to trigger a power plant malfunction, and still enough conventional weaponry to do more than tickle them.

Counter-intuitively when you engineer small fast ships the problem is often the number of internals not the size of them. If you slap in a Heavy, Deep Class 3 Hull Reinforcement you lose all your speed, but 3x Class 1s are lighter and better. So what about 10 slots, all class 1 or 2? That would also help some non-combat builds I've tried in the past where you can't add a Class 3 multi limpet lead weight, and don't have the slots for multiple hack, recon, collect etc limpets. The same argument can be made for only having 4 utility slots.

At this point you end up with something that has the capabilities of the bigger ships but is still constrained by size and weight, and I would still expect that the best builds would still have the compromises between speed or running some slots empty.

You can mine bomb ships in PVP. Have dropped 'ion disruption and reverb cascade' on several, waiting to gank new players at Deciat.
Don't forget to give them a few blast of flechettes while their engines are choking. Retire, hang out in low orbit, at 0 throttle and AOA, below the OC line. You are invisible there. Return, rinse and repeat, as much as you desire.

460 with 2 pips, WTH? Its more heavy then Mark 3 and more heavy then Mark 4. How?
