Cobra Mk V and more...

Well no, because people with the Cobra Mk4 payed the exact same amount for the game (barring discounts and etc of course) as people without, so the Mk4 was free, so no pay!
I don't quite understand what to call it then?
When the last new ships appeared, which can be bought for ARX mined in the game, eventually buy them for credits, still many people called them pay2win.
And here is a game ship that can not be obtained in any way. What is it called ?

The Cobra Mk5 is coming out very soon and will make the Mk4 obsolete, more or less 🤷‍♂️
I agree with you, but for a different reason.
I have a long time P2, recently got a T8 and a Mandalay.
Prior to the T8 I didn't use the P2 as it's basically not much better than the FDL. And flew mostly non-SCO. As it was hard to use at non long ranges. People were telling me that SCO was cool, but I didn't get it.
So I bought a Mandalay and a T8 and I started using SCO. Now I'm trying it on the P2 as well. It's just a huge difference. It's hard to even explain.
So basically, all ships without SCO are just garbage.

Why is pay2win bad and exclusive is okay?

Because, at the time of the Mk4 release, it was available to all players for the same price, nothing apart from the price of purchasing the game in a particular time window. We are no longer in that time windows, therefore the ship is not available. Pay2win however means the ship is always available to anyone as long as they can afford it. The Mk4 brought no monetary gains to FDEV, but pay2win ships would bring monetary gain, and therefore would encourage FDEV to start releasing ships for ARX only rather than have them available in game for credits later. I mean how would you like it if the Mk5 was only available for ARX forever? Even if you wanted a second one you had to pay ARX to get it? That's why pay2win is bad but exclusive isn't. Exclusive doesn't necessarily mean monetary gains for a company, I mean it can in some cases, but in this case no.

If the Mk IV were available to all, you'd be hard-pressed to find an audience for it. It's a heavy ship, and you notice its weight immediately. People would be quick to criticize its performance and argue that a Keelback is superior. In most situations, they would be right. The Mk IV fills a unique niche as a heavy small ship, but most people would opt for a different vessel until they could afford a proper medium or heavy-class ship.

The only reason some oppose it is that they didn't get it. If they had, it's doubtful it would be in their hangar, taking up space and gathering dust.

From everything I've seen and read about the Mk V, it will surpass its predecessor, as it should. I will still use the Mk IV, as it has its limited place in the fan fiction I write.

When will there be an update? Or is Cobra5 already in the game and they will just give access to it tomorrow?

That's very cool. But I can't find where it says that.
It's not in any FDev communication, but from those that played on FDev's test servers with the Cobra Mk V - they saw that the module storage limit had been increased to 600. From what they gathered, this would also be the status on Live tomorrow. No change in Odyssey material/data/goods storage, though.

I'll hope that's the case and not done specifically for the test.
I remember when there were open tests there was something bought for fish to make it easier to test.

Yep, that was the Beta for Horizons (2015), where the Engineers asked, "I wish to explore the mystery of Fish. Please bring me Fish." And you could unlock engineering if you just brought some tons of fish with you.

We'll find out tomorrow if the storage has been expanded or not.

I can give you a cast iron guarantee we’re getting an increase to module storage tomorrow. How do I know?

Because I’m the guy that recently decided to sell off a load of rarely used modules because materials are cheap but storage is tight.

Some people are lucky, some are not. That’s how I know:)

I'm sorry but I have to ask the obvious question:

When you left his base did he also send a message saying "So long, and thanks for all the fish"?

I'll get my coat.

Valid question, but no, I don't remember any such messages being sent, unfortunately. :)
