Cobra Mk V in-game availability?

At least the position would be clear, and LEPERS would get them at launch for no additional cost

Yebbut, not everyone has the Cobra Mk IV, and many would shun the Asp Scout, so problem solved!

On way back from Jamesons with my new Cobra V in the station ready to be recalled to FC when I get back.
Hopefully all necessary modules needed for her are already owned on other ships!
It looks great (which is more than I can say for my Mandy - hmm - and the new EA BeakyMcBeakface - yeuch!).

At least that theory that a proper patch/update is required for the credits release of ships should be truly put to bed now.
a thought: for some who don't have time to play elite as much... purchasing the CobrV, Python 0.2, Type fork... has an advantage.
Point to the corsair for an extreme example of why, The corsair is almost 80million credits stock!
With a 7a power plant almost 40mil and 7a thrusters almost 52mil... suddenly paying to avoid grinding out another 80 mil before you can outfit the corsair becomes very "pay to get your limited time saved"
As for the CobrV... now that I could get one for credits....

Something about the hard point placement in relation to the cockpit... the overall style shaping... makes me think... This isn't a cobra... THIS IS A VIPER!

CobraV just cost me 1.7M(? I think) Cr at Jamesons (incl discount) and I (hopefully) have all the necessary engineered and pre-engineered (CG) modules on my 20 unused, recently old/outdated ships - so it just cost me that plus 9,000 Cr transport to my FC.
If I don't use or like it - I sell base model as is for 1.7M and my loss is basically 9,000 Cr transport ONLY.

I've got more than 80 million from shooting just 1 ship in the current CG with my alts, that was such a grind...
(I got 2 double engineered KWS to come, which is even better!)

how many gaming communities do you follow? i would say this place is fairly tame and friendly compared to some
thinking back to the mechwarrior forum when they introduced 3rd person view in game!!!
but for me the most toxic i have ever experienced - so much so it totally put me off the games and largely off competetive MP games with randoms in general
were the counter strike players and DOTA 2 players.....
(for balance....... Deep rock galactic seems to have a really friendly bunch playing that and i had really fun experiences with players in battlefield badcompany .... but also for the most part i think the elite players are a decent bunch too, with a few obvious exceptions, and of those most no longer seem to post here)

It's certainly a trend that people give the new ships different names in their mind.
The Python Mk II is actually a FDL Mk II, the Corsair on the other hand is the Python Mk II and the Cobra Mk V is the Viper Mk V. At some point we will have gone full circle.
You know how people hold their phone above their heads when they take selfies, to hide the double-chin and/or gizzard?
It's kind of the same thing with the Mandalay.
It looks fine as long as you only look down at it, so you can't see the beer-belly.

Oddly enough, a couple of days ago I was looking at my CM5, with various bits of ship-kit nailed on, and thought it looked more like a Viper than a Cobra.
Don't say things like that!
It can't be a Viper I got one and wasn't disappointed by it.
The Viper IV is hilarious as an AX fighter, never, ever got Caustic damage when using 4 Plasma Chargers or Shard Cannons...
