Cockpit lighting

I guess we need to keep asking. Maybe someone will listen. Even if we could change their color we may be able to reduce the glare. They shine directly into the joint between each lens ring, which is what causes the issue.

Agree all around, it just seems so silly that they wouldn't give us full-dark when we turn off the HUD. Why would we want the access lights or the motion indicators on the left/right of the HUD. Why would that stay on too? One thing I keep meaning to check, when you self destruct or reboot/repair do the accent lights turn off for that?!?!

The Rift is all about immersion and having to look at approaching planets with all that unnecessary information around them is an immersion breaker.
The information doesn't even look like it is in your HUD anyway, it looks like it is actually surrounding or orbiting the planet.
I'm aware this information helps out commanders who are in a hurry to get somewhere but it would be nice to have the option to turn it off to enjoy the awesomeness of space, but still have the dash information to be able to target the next body or read planetary information.
I'm already on my way to the core and beyond but this issue is just doing my head in and I'm starting to lose interest.
I'm assuming it wouldn't be to hard to implement, as there is the full off hud option as well as someone already getting rid of the supercruise lines (which is great), so just one more mini HUD toggle would be awesome.
Even the module info and test and chat boxes aren't really needed either for exploring. I can look at my panels after honking for all necessary information, and also the two lights on the ASPX could do with a dimmer switch or an off switch.
As you can see by my cockpit I've tried to make that information as dull as possible, but it still ain't working.
Anyway here's a pic for clarification

Nice (picture), hopefully now they introduced external camera's they might be more amenable to more QoL adjustments like the above, and -

Curved commodity screen
Angled sidebar in map
Separate on / off options for virtual screens in ship & SRV (they're just annoying in SRVs, super helpful in ships) - or make the activate spot lower for the left / right panels so you have to look right then down to bring them up
Dimmer switches for bridge lights
Colour options for UI (so we can keep red enemies, green friendlies)

Or at least indicate these things are on a list (even Bethesda have better customer communications than Fdev) - and if someone points me to a dev list showing these points on I'll be suitably chastened (but happy).

FD, could you please give us some control over cockpit lighting? Specifically, I'd like to turn off most (all) of the lights in the cockpit, especially the bright lights on the armrests and the in-facing "dome" lights, such as the A-pillar lights in the Asp, and the ceiling lights in the Anaconda. These lights are very distracting, especially in VR.

hear hear.

must be your VR headset. it's the opposite for me. I need the cockpit lights on because it's too dark most of the times.

I just re-saw the title to this thread, and now I have it set in my head to...Kung-Fu Fighting :D

"Everybody was cockpit lighting!" jujujujujujujoojoojoo
"Fast as lightning"
