Colonia 10th anniversary - feast during plague and celebration on graveland of real oltimers' dreams

Only ever been to Colonia once... took me 4 weeks to get out there.. towing my FC along...... all for that engineer who does lvl 4 shield cells.

Took 3 weeks to get back (via a slight detour through the core).

No intention of ever going back to that dump while we have other PMFs around the bubble to plot and scheme against

With a Caspian, going to Colonia from the Bubble takes an hour or less via the neutron highway. The record is 39 minutes.

Yeah but then you are in Colonia with a Caspian that can do nothing but jump... and also... you are in Colonia.
If, like I did, you kit that Caspian out with as many CG cargo racks as it can carry (presumably when you're in the Bubble), and transfer those over to the ships you buy for hauling in Colonia, you're off to a good start.

It really matters not what ship you fly up, I'm half way now in the Old Mk3, i have a Python stored at Jaques for multi role and i can always build a hauler up there (admittedly with less resources).

Relaxed flight to Colonia on Caspian is 1hr. Distance now is not a problem. And Caspian as a hauler... Maybe, I converted it to passengers ship during last passenger CG. W\O shield, however, but was able to take requered business class group.

i am still there.
I have a banner draped to the side of my FC that reads, "Welcome to Colonia! Now go home"
Seriously though, one thing the CG has brought so far is gankers from the bubble. We don't normally have many around, so it's fun to have something to play with.
Speaking of, I have not seen @Colonia Jesus in a while, wonder if they are still around somewhere..
i am still there.

I mean I've played the game since it came out. I've never wanted (or dreamed?!) of going to Colonia. I also played Elite on the Commodore 64, does that count as "old-timer" enough for you?

...anyway, why yuck other people's yum? That seems like a very negative attitude. Cheer up! Life's too short :)

[Edit: even my keyboard is old. Had a stuck key so made a typo. Fixed.]

Colonia WAS great, particularly if like me you didnt want to grind faction ranks for engineers to upgrade certain parts of your ship; but from my experience, it was quite drama-heavy with a very 'chosen few' attitude when it came to groups there.

I dont know how I feel about colonisation reaching the area; I suspect it'll lead to superpowers finally reaching the area, something I know the old guard wont be too keen on.

Is it too much to ask for a region of space to have small/medium landing pads only for those of us tired of seeing big ships everywhere?
