Colonia CG Organization

Whilst I somewhat agree with you; Operations is a very nice QoL for Explorers/Exobiologists out in the Black who have the opportunity to do 'something else' for a little bit and gain some useful rewards. Perhaps think of it that way?
I'm sure that's a common perspective. Again, I see Elite Dangerous as a virtual life rather than simply a game. If I take our off-grid trailer out into BLM land for a couple of weeks, I don't get to magically pop back into civilization to play my VR game. I wait until I return to civilization. And THAT is why I don't share your perspective on the value of Operations, speaking as a primary explorer myself. If I'm in the black, I'm in the black, period.

I get the message lol

Actually, I'll be sticking around for a day or two after the CG in case FD gives any hints that the next CG will be soon.

Will be leaving two of my ships behind at Ratraii in preparation for establishing my second homebase. Hopefully colonization won't be too far behind 🤞
Interestingly, when I first migrated to the Colonia region back in 2016 (after only having been in Elite Dangerous for a bit over 3 months), Colonia Dream was my home base. But a couple of years later, I moved my fleet to Bisley landing in Benzaiten because it's a nicer looking station (tourist). The downside, of course, is Ratraii has more ships and modules to offer. But everything is just a jump or two apart here, so it works out fine.

I can't wait for the engineered class 7-8 cargo racks which are locked behind a CG that requires Operations.

The salt will season my meals for years.
I'll actually be surprise if anyone really cares about that. Cargo hauling still works just fine even without specialized cargo modules. And, thus far, I've seen absolutely zilch in Operations rewards that I care about at all.

Time to be surprised then. All the colonizers would want them to speed up building for sure. There would be a ton of people interested.

As for Ops, it’s pretty much the same thing as powerplay. Is everyone doing it? No, but the rewards are plenty for many, especially people who build a lot of ships or want to optimize certain builds they already have.

I play a game, I am not on work here. If I want to fly my T7, I want to fly my T7, not my T6, T8, T9, T10 or T11.
I absolutely agree with that. You can play the game however you like. That's the beauty of ED.

Just do not expect to get the same rewards than the people who optimize they game style for a specific CG campaign.

I am sorry, but I've very little understanding of people who do not how to play the game efficiently.

For these CG the the META was a PC and a T8, no other ship mattered. You decided to spend an insane amount of time to get your FC Carrier to Colonia. You could simply have used your fast ship there: Caspian takes 1h, Mandalay around 2h. Compare to the FC time to get there it is minimal. You could have got, like many of us did, a PC on the way, and the T8 at Colonia.

So do not whine because you played a far less efficient way than other player did.

I don’t think you’re understanding his post at all. He’s not complaining about not getting enough or whatever you think he needs some efficiency for or whatever. All he’s saying is that the CGs should have at least 2 tiers so that everyone can rush to complete tier 1, and thus succeed in the CG, and they can then move on to the next one without finishing that one completely.

That way everyone else that starts late for whatever reason can contribute to it and get the reward.

This has nothing to do with efficiencies. You can contribute to this CG in the most inefficient way possible and still get the same reward as anyone else.

Thank you CMDR Sublime for seeing what I was actually saying. I cannot believe the amount of people who have missed the mark on what the actual issue is. Very tempting to just unload on some of these people and call them out for who they actually are, but that would most likely get me banned from the forums.

Anyway, first and last time I give my constructive criticism in this game. If this continues I will gradually be pushed away from it and just put it in my inactive section of my library. Sad really, because these events are supposed to bring people together, yet instead it is individuals who design it poorly on FDev's end and those who champion bad design for CG goals on the forums while at the same time insulting people's effort, commitment and time availability are destroying the very wins this game has recently had. There is a method to make the most logical decisions, yet some instead choose to attack logic or ignore it altogether.

As a community goal the individual rewards are inconsequential. The Goal wasn't to get racks or creds . It was to give Colonia nice stuff.

The issue of rewards now is something Fdev will have to look at as many aren't into the community goal only what they can get for free ?

Whilst I appreciate that real life plays into many commanders playtime ( sounds bad ? ).
The OP started this off as a way to get everyone together at least on the forums which are not wildly populated by the rest of the commanders .

I put most of this on Fdev.
3 x tier 1 and 1x tier 3 ( med pad only) who thought that this was a great idea ?????
Tier 3 nearest to the supply and the med pad with the 11.5 due to the max a med ship can carry at 450ish. This would have given those people who hadn't arrived some breathing space.
Expecting players to leave be was never going to be an option and to be fair. Even if all of use on the forums agreed there are others who do t read the forums ( surprisingly) .

Now for me i started moving to Colonia the day after the last CG finished if they had another one in the bubble I would have missed that . My choice.

I've missed quite a lot as an explorer .
Now I was also moving to Colonia so had all my stuff ready and FC prepped and it took me 2 days toove ( the first day the pc crashed after every jump ) so it wasn't plain saling.
I think the frustration on both sides could have been aliveated if proper planning had been implemented by Fdev.
We could have had targeted rewards tier 1 gets Colonia this 2 tier 1 would get that etc .
The general lack of information of the CG is minimal .

Exactly that, and if we had tried to do it some other way, Asura still would have completed early because it was low hanging fruit.

The most efficient & low risk way to get it done was seen by many, many people, and the results should surprise nobody.

Thankfully planning prevailed and it looks like all 4 might complete with rewards.

Well, as the 'evening' approaches I'm encouraged to do a bit more trucking because of the incredible efforts of the Elite Trucking Community. Anyone who's followed my posts will know that I didn't see even Tier 1 @ Einheriar being done and now it looks possible.

After the last CG when FDev were "disappointed" I am wondering what adjective they will use for 'our' failure this time - but it won't because you guys didn't try!

In future I shall revise my logistic assumptions....

Nobody expects the Einheriar tier 1 ... Dun dun duuuun .
Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to colonia... Our four...no... Amongst our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

Looking at the totals for CG's in general they have mostly been a disappointment . Not sure whether it's their unrealistic totals that put people off or not really targeting what they want from the players ? If you halved the targets in previous CG it wouldn't change improve the level of 100% ing
If you hit this level this is what happens ??
But Im really just repeating myself in the vain hope someone in Fdev takes note
