I know PVP people dont want the game changing to protect soft targets or people who wont 'git gud'. Thats fine with me - BUT the thing that i dont like is I dont believe that this is how the galaxy would operate. Theres no way these populated, rich systems would tolorate any of this crazy piracy - i dont think they would be able to get away with it in any well run system.
In anarchy low security systems - yes fine - i should be able to avoid those or go in for greater risk and reward.

You've got a point and that is indeed a wider question that is hopefully being addressed with the C&P changes.
Fluffwise I guess you can say that terrorist attacks are likely anywhere.
Just one point: A CG is not necessarily supported by the whole community, there are valid role play reasons to oppose some CGs and if you are doing this then your aim will be to stop players delivering to the station in question. This is part of a CG. Given that the mechanics of ED allow players to escape easily if they are quick attackers now tend to shoot first and talk second. This is not griefing, it is just not agreeing with the CG.

On the other hand there are those players that just like shooting fish in a barrel and see a CG as a source of fish in barrels. I don't see the interest myself but if that is your thing you can understand why they would go to a CG.

If you prepare for these attackers the evading can actually be fun. As said above though if you don't want this kind of interactions you can avoid CGs in open using your preferred method.

No wonder you died so quickly. A single engineered Pacifier cannon for example, does more damage in one volley than both your shield + armour put together.
Indeed just the other day I was collecting some Aluminium Profiles (I'm building some new HOTAS Mounts) I was in an area well known for being populated by lots of other DIY'ers like myself...as I drove my 4x4 out of the carpark...given that I was hauling something SO valuable its only natural I was instantly destroyed by someone who was driving a Leopard 2 Tank Around...and DOESN'T LIKE DIYers...a couple of hits from 120 mm HEAT rounds and boom! My Car was scrap metal...
I don't think the local police were too bothered...the Leopard 2 drove off for 10 minutes and they forgot about him so he could come back and blow up another shopper...

Pretty much mirriors my thought process when anyone brings up the whole real life thing in these murderhobo threads. My other thought is that if this crap mirrors their life, they must have made some ealy bad life choices somewhere along the way.

Try walking around Mardi Gras flashing cash around. Let me know how that works out for you. There are certain situations that are inherently dangerous in real life too. Not saying it's right, it is just the way it is.
Alternatively try pulling a gun on someone to steal their Phone/Wallet outside JFK or similar...which is more the equivalent of getting interdicted close to a busy Coriolis station in a wealthy populated, stable, high security system...

You'll find, OP, after you get some experience that 92/216 is actually pretty low when it comes to shield/hull. That does not mean that your Cobra isn't viable though.
One of the problems players face when interdicted by CMDRs for the first time is they try to escape like they would from NPC, i.e. in a straight line, boost, boost, and FSD. When facing human opponents, that is a surefire way to get yourself killed.
Start by watching the video below to learn basic outfitting, escape, and evasion skills. And once you get to engineering your stuff, you'll find that you can make your gear a whole lot tougher.

I should be able to kill a ship that has better guns, better shields and the pilot more skilled than me just by complaining about it on the forums too.
FDev can you please give small ships a button to kill a ganker instantly? or give us the ability to combat log without breaking the rules? better yet, just give us whatever we want with no understanding of the game mechanics and let us destroy the game we so dearly love and enjoy.
alternatively, just give us a solo or private group method so we can play with ourselves or mobius, so we are safe, all the time, in a Elite NOT Dangerous.

Why? I've posted it many times before and it has never been taken down?
It has some mildly harsh language, but it isn't lewd or mean, and it's otherwise a very helpful video - has helped many CMDRs who have come to the forums for advice.
I think I'm going to let this ride and if the mods decide it's inappropriate, they can certainly take it down.

Swearing and naming and shaming are forbidden, here, which are both present in the video. The only safe-ish way to show it to people is linking the youtuber and naming the particular video.

Not really other than jumping away very quickly - much as the oft lauded video will show you how to survive most people don't enjoy living in fear and just running all the time so it's strongly recommended you stay out of Open in busy spots unless you're wanting to run the gauntlet.
Sadly you'll find once you're in a bigger tougher target lots of these people won't even bother you as you're no longer easy pickings.
Hopefully the new C+P mechanics will reduce this, but with the billions these people have saved it's unlikely to make a big dent.
Sorry. It's one of the most disappointing bits about the game. Learn to avoid/ignore the e-peen wavers and it's almost all good after that, then you can just join the rest of us giggling at their digi-flexing.
