What do you guys consider combat logging? Alt tabbing and ending the task? Waiting the 15 seconds then exit the game? Or both?
I combat log all the time and I don't see the problem with it. I go to a CZ, I kill a ship and I log the combat details.

Believe it or not it has a lot to do with combat logging. And the solo, private open conversation.
There are so many loose ends here its astonishing. We have a multiplayer game with single player activities. And the multiplayer part of the game is suffering because of it. (powerplay, BGS, Guilds thats are coming). They have a chance to adjust this stuff with the guilds that are coming in the future.
Making these changes could really pull this game together. And kill the mile wide inch deep meme.
And the solo dudes can still do their thing. So can the casuals. The BGS is not casual though. Neither is PVP. Again a lots changed, and what worked then. Wont work when they release the guilds. Its going to make it worse. Moving our own megaships around. To FIGHT OVER TERRITORY? Good lord we thing this hotel California talk is bad now? Biowaste is gonna hit the fan when they implement that. Its going to get way worse.
I think they know it, theyd have to with 5 years of the talk. And combat logging too, you cant have people logging out on others because they lose. Losses mean just as much as a win.
Its crucial they fix these things for the multiplayer aspect of the game. People that play in solo and private arent playing for everyone else. Bottom line, and they should be restricted from impacting the multiplayer experience. Because right now, solo and private have the advantage when it comes to effecting other players. There is no paper trail besides the bounty board. You can take a system without ever getting on that bounty board.
I really dont think the people fighting against this stuff really have the experience in the first place to fight against it. And if they do, they know they are taking advantage of the system. And again it includes combat logging, BGS, solo, private and open. Everything. Its hurting the multiplayer part of this game, one of the big reasons people bought this game.
It's been suggested before that initiating a menu-log should simply create a "high wake" event in-game.
If FDev implemented this, nobody'd even know that anybody was menu-logging so they'd have no reason to complain about it.
Yeah, then, everybody who HW's suddenly is a "cheater".
No, you just give em a reason to came after you, because a "coward" who ran from "challenge" an easy prey to mess with...I've been accused of just that, anyway.
I am included on some petty KOS list, because I ran away from two FdLs in a Keelback, because, apparently, I spoiled their fun.

FD's worst design/coding-disaster to date.......
The Hollow Square!
Make every square hollow and watch CLogging stats drop down the crapper.
I've got three quarters of an hour in goat simulator and I unlocked the giraffe, what's your point ?.
That’s me humped then. I did the High Wake Boogie twice today at the Tranquility CG. The way I see it, them failing to melt me is a solid win for me.
We have a multiplayer game with single player activities.
I think you have this backwards. Elite always was a single player game and is now. It has a multiplayer aspect, but that is not the focus of the game.
Indeed. None of the three ranks require you to interact with another human being, much less shoot at them.
Ultimate solo mode
No players, no npc, just you...
Here is a question for all, if I made a website that with the help of a little app people ran in the background of their game would allow you to search for where CMDRs are, build heat maps of player activity etc. Would people find this useful?
Are you serious?
Engineers introduced 3 layers of RNG and a mountain of grind in between the player and the PvP, and shattered the concept of skill based challenge. As it stands now, the only players able to get any use out of PvP are highly advanced players with vast fortunes and countless hours invested and even most of these players are sick at heart to have to engage the engineers; good look being a new player wanting to get into PvP in Open

Because it was an ill considered cheap gameplay grab that needlessly unbalanced PvP (& PvE) too.
Now if you want to take part in PvP, you have little choice but to grind away pimping your ship up at the expense of just buckets of time, upgrade most/all features of your ship to the highest grade you can (there's little/no choice or skill in this), apply the magic spells of choice, to then ensure you've now raised it to the new needlessly raised bar of performance. Now you can compete back on more of a level play basis just with the game needlessly further diluted with yet more paper-scissors-stones gameplay thanks to the magic side effects.
And let's not imply PvE hasn't been hit too. Post engineers NPCs are even more relegated to cannon fodder.
I'd suggest the only people who gained out of The Engineers are folks mainly playing PvE who like a nice advantage over NPCs... Is it because they are afraid of a challenge![]()
