It’s like every NO-PVP player on the forums wants to PvP on the forums - are most are hilariously bad at it.

Im looking at you ‘my PG is bigger than yours’ guy and ‘tell me what platform and where and ill get on a different platform’ dude.

Thats the most Ironic part out of all this.

Mobius is gung-ho on 0 PVP. But they dont mind working together to influence systems for objective control. In EVERY PVP game I have ever played. The whole point of attacking another person was for Objective control. And in Elite, "Direct PVP" is griefing, while "indirect" pvp or taking objectives is not. While both are PVP no matter how you dice it.

And thats whys its unbalanced and PVP is not meaningful.

Guilds/Squadrons are coming. And they better fix this stuff. Or its going to be DOA just like powerplay. And they need to fix things like Combat logging, influence rates and much more. There is so much that needs to be handled for the multiplayer experience.

We arent going to hear about combat logging from the single player part of this game? Nor Crime and punishment. Lets stop kidding ourselves. Stop holding the game back because a few people dont want OPEN to have incentive and meaning.

This ain't gonna change anything. Until there is a possibility to avoid all player interactions and still achieve the goal people will use this and it will all come down to undermining one another in solo.

How do you imagine to have a competitive environment when you can bypass all defences?

Frontier have already stated that they're not splitting the BGS between modes. It's staying as one shared BGS.

Maybe, and that was before squadrons and all that.

Dont think for one second plans dont change. Because it happens all the time.

And all that needs to happen is Solo and Private modes influence greatly reduced so you can mess with NPC's is a remote part of the galaxy no problem. And anything a player faction does is done in open with a high rate of influence. People have the advantage using anything but open for objective control. People will still get to do their thing. As long as its not against player factions. They shouldnt see a difference. And if its a remote area away from other player groups. You can get the same benefits of open unopposed.

Unless your end goal for all this argument is to have the advantage of not being opposed while taking part in one side of the PVP while opting out of the other. Then I dont feel sorry for you.

So we need to fix combat logging first and foremost. Then the rest of the stuff. Otherwise they can deliver the squadrons, and the same problems we have no will still exist. And no one will care after about the first month. Honeymoon phases suck with this game. Cause it all seems awesome at first. But then its a total let down for many because were back to square one. They have the chance to fix it. And all signs look good for change from here.

What's this 'we' nonsense? You keep posting as though you're some sort of authority figure.

You're not.

And while plans do indeed change, FDev have given absolutely no indication that this is likely where the shared BGS is concerned.

This isn't the Disney universe...wishing really​ hard is unlikely to affect anything.

LOL, get over that. Im speaking as part of the community that has a problem with combat logging. You like to argue semantics like that asp explorer dude. Its funny to see all the directions you guys go after proof and logic is laid at your feet.

They also never gave us any indication that they would have open feedback for the beyond series either giving us a peek behind the curtain. Lots of things can happen. Lots of things can change.

And I hope they fix combat logging first. Because its killed piracy in the multiplayer part of this game. Id rather pirate and have fun. But its sucks in pay and the same people that voted for the "immurshun timers" for ship delivery have no problem pounding that escape button, because getting pirated in a game is too immersive I guess.....

No, you are speaking as an individual that has a problem with combat logging. Unless there was a democratic vote to elect you the PvP/Anti-CL'ing spokesperson, it is very presumptuous of you to assume you speak for all.
 
Yes, I agree. The problem is there isn't any easy or obvious way of doing so. Currently they can only look into it statistically and after the fact.

Yes it sucks, but there's no magic answer here.

Sure there is, Reset the timer upon taking dmg from any ship. Or extend the timer to 30 seconds.

People can go explore for 2-8 hours, people can engineer for hours on end. But all of a sudden when their time is impacted or they start to lose they logout? Please. Those are pretty easy fixes.

Pretty sure they mentioned possibly extending the timer on the recent live stream. Can't remember the details right now, but it's certainly an option they're looking at.
 
I can see only one solution, any other option would upset part of the player base.
Just make a PVP server, with Powerplay etc.

That is the last thing the PvP crowd wants, it needs to have targets otherwise they are just reduced to killing each other, and since they are all Eng Balanced, that's evidently no fun at all.

It honestly should be easier to evade and highwake rather than just logout. I also think they should fix the FSD Cooldown timer. And give use to some of the modules like Manifest scanners to pick up missions from the other guy to match the cargo. And if they fix the logout timer, the Wake Scanner would be nice to finally use too.

Also that powerplay modules that strips shields really seemed neat too. Hatchbreakers. Man I cant wait to use all that stuff.

But right now people are just "murderhobos" And while I think thats a good part of the game too, Pirating seems like a lot more fun. The muderhobing would be great for the Squadrons I mentioned earlier between player factions. Defending territory and all that. But again, it can all be circumvented by the modes people use reducing the risk against others. I and many others would love to group up with our squadrons and put meaning to these wings and team comps.

Id love to see the PVP meta change to actual gameplay. It could be really neat dude.

I really, really wouldn't get your hopes up about squadrons. I honestly don't see Elite heading down the 'territory' route any time soon. It's just not that sort of game.

All you think we do is look for traders to cause "grief" and its nothing like that at all.

Remember when I said there are people around here speaking up against stuff while they have 0 experience. You just showed that.

Every now and then there might be some lore event where the bad guys in the game show up and do something. But it gives this game context and honestly its fun to watch the carebears get triggered over spilt milk.

But 99% of the time, we enjoy killing each other and learning against each other. Watch that video dude. Thats what us PVPERS do.

Well if someone interdicts another player, they should be locked out of highwaking. There have been so many times ive been interdicted started to win the fight, and they either logout or highwake away. I think people should have the chance to escape, and there should still be some difficulty for that. But at the same time the aggressor shouldnt have a free out. Both parties should be locked in a bit longer.

Let be honest here, I could get a sidewinder and wipe a noob conda pretty fast. The extended timer here wouldnt even make a difference. It would only bring meaning to engineered ships. I think they touched on that one time too. SO hopefully they follow through. And fix the hot dang skill boosters.

As far as territory goes? Powerplay and BGS is all about that. Its currently happening in colonia and even in the bubble. Did you see the diamond frogs post? And some people use powerplay as it is now, but a very large portion of the community just use it for module hopping.

The territory fights are already built into the game my dude. Open up the map and check powerplay. You can see it all. And we have groups that worked hard for their player factions in colonial with the initiative.

Thats where we meet up. Everytime. Even I grab a trader from time to time. I used to stream it all the time. Lots of people watching me do it. I even went out to the satellite when ED promoted the thargoids returning.

I play both sides. Lots of us do. But all you guys see is hivemind thinking due to perception. Because thats all you guys look for, is the whining and salt farming. Go look up Archon fury, or Legendary chicken in that video, Peleluech, crimson kaim, and even Subsynk(time of chaos). Ph1ltor, brapman, and more. There are so many people actually playing this game. Running blockades and people taking part. You dont see them on the forums every day.

Hell DJ TRUTHSAYER a private group (most of the time) streamer hired my group to blockade Ceos and Sothis during Operation Sirius Business. Even he understands this stuff.

So cmon dudes, get with the program. There is so much going on here you guys dont know. Or purposefully refuse to acknowledge it. Because its always been out in the open.

We play EVERY PART OF THIS GAME. We arent selective or bias. Lots of us want and enjoy the multiplayer experiences even if it is broken. We enjoy the game. Wed like to enjoy it even more. And its super frustrating seeing the same vocal minority of solo or private groupers speaking up against making the multiplayer part of this game better because then they feel left out. Well Pick the other mode. Or dont take the risks.

Don't be daft.

Combat logging doesn't "ruin" anything, and especially not piracy, because there's never been enough content based around piracy to make it viable.
Sure, it might be nice if FDev implemented proper outlaw gameplay but, in the absence of that, CLing doesn't really damage something that isn't there to begin with.

As for priorities, frankly, I'd say fixing CLing should be given roughly the same priority as, perhaps, creating more mining-focused gameplay.
Which, in turn, would be below fixing the beige and adding new features to planets and the general "tidy up" that next year is due to bring.

I'd say that CLing is almost entirely irrelevant to 90% of the player base because the majority of people aren't interested in PvP.

It'd be unwise to overestimate the importance of your personal wish-list.
