Commander name on Launcher

As someone who has 6 Elite accounts

I would like the launcher to show your Commander name, not your real name that you have registered on the account.

By having the Commander name displaying I would know which account I am logged into whereas now I don't know as I obviously have my real name registered on all of my accounts.

It would also be useful for streamers if they are showing the launcher on the stream as they may not want their viewers to know their real name.

Why 6 accounts? I can understand 3 with Combat, Exploration and Trade ranks.

On my alt I just appended Explorer to my name.

edit: Also you could have six launchers with individually named shortcuts.

Yes, please. I absolutely hate it when I see my real name anywhere on screen. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

My main account.
An alt account to use when my main account is out exploring, which is very useful at the moment as my main is still returning from Beagle Point.
An open only, anything goes - e.g. pirating and other criminal activities (not ganking) - account.
An account which will be parked out at Colonia (I still have to make the trip).
A "no friends" account to use when i want to play Elite but I don't feel like socialising.
A fun experimental account which I reset often and try out different things which normally result in my death (e.g. flying into planets or stations as fast as I can).

I also have a PS4 account in addition to the 6 on PC.

I totally agree. I am a streamer, and I stream many many games and it is easy to forget that this one game might open a launcher that displays my full real name to everyone that is watching my stream. I usually take precautions, but if I slip even for a second I have to drag the launcher off the screen and delete the recorded video on my channel, as my real name is not the name of the character that I portray on stream, and being that I created this persona partially for protection from potential threats from random people online (swatting (false police reports), identity theft etc.). For now I really have no choice but to change my real name on my account to that of my stream name to protect myself and hope it doesn't somehow get my account messed up so I cannot play/stream this great game, Especially considering that this apparently has been a problem since May 2019 at least.

Just make 6 copies of the Launcher, rename them to include the commander name you want, log in once on each and you're done.

But the launcher shows the name you have registered with the Frontier Store. Steam login versions show the Steam account name on the launcher.

I was answering the OPs main point of not knowing which commander was logged in, you simply use the launcher of the commander you want to play on. Once logged in on each launcher you don't need to log in again and closing the open launcher/opening the one you needs is a lot faster than logging in each time you change.
The streamers problem isn't a real one, they just need to learn how not to stream the launcher.

I do beg your pardon, I thought you were referring to the displayed name on the launcher which is what the OP is asking for.

Yes I have shortcuts on my desktop to renamed copies of EDLaunch.exe as that is the most obvious way to avoid logging-in and out which some people still seem to do.
