I have to say though that it's a bit of a tease to say you've finished but not give any indication as to when the web app will update ...

If I worked at FD I would have been so tempted to insert a temporary typo into certain names, so the backers thought they'd screwed up the entry when they checked the page e.g.

"Dear Mr. Bonner: Congratulations, your commander name has been accepted and locked and cannot be changed. Welcome to the world of Elite Dangerous, Commander Boner."​

Then listen for the screams.

On reflection, there's probably a very good reason why my job isn't public-facing.

One issue that has come up is people that have prefixed their own titles such as Major, Captiain or even commander to the beginning of their names. These are being rejected currently, to give people the opportunity to revise their choices. Otherwise there will be a lot of "Commander Commander [insert name]" flying around.

For those people that have had their names rejected, submissions will be reopened once we have approved/rejected the other names (stations, npc names, etc). This will probably be tomorrow.

Thanks for the info, its all good i will try some variations etc once it opens again. Can't say i actually had my heart set on a must have name. There will always be something i like available.
How quickly will future picks be processed? I'm assuming no lock out more of a deal with them as they come? Unless of course the second round is big due to rejections!
